Jordan POV

"Is that it?" Mom asked as I closed the door to the house.

"Yea." I said.

Dad drove the moving truck while mom drove the car.

"This sucks." I got in the passenger side of the car and put my earplugs in. I figured my mom was talking but nothing she can say is worth hearing right now.

My old home. My old neighborhood. My old school. Everything brings back good memories.

"Home sweet home." Mom smiled. She's really excited to be back in Chicago, unlike me. I mean it's like I'm reading the same miserable book, over and over again.

"Cheer up, sweetie." Dad rubbed my shoulder.

I helped him unpack some and get settled in. By 3:30 we were done. I showered and slipped on a t shirt, sweats, and Jordans.

"You should call Amir." She suggested.

No

"That's not a good idea." I sat on the couch next to her and lied my head on her shoulders.

"Why not honey? I'm sure he would be glad to talk to you." She smiled down at me.

"No. I haven't talked to him since the day we left. I wouldn't even recognize him if he walked by me." I shrugged.

"That's not good." Was all she said.

"Pizza!" Dad walked through the door with two large pizzas.

Cool

"Great! I'm starving." I dashed to the kitchen.

"Wash your hands Jordan." Mom begged.

"Tammy, she's hungry." My dad came to my defense. She gave him a long stare.

"Thanks dad." I kissed his cheek and dug into the food.

It was 10 at night and I was acting like I didn't have school in the morning.

"School is in the morning. You're gonna be sleepy, Jordan." My mom stood in my doorway in her silk LV robe and slippers.

"Yea I really don't wanna." I said. My eyes were glued to Love and Hip Hop on tv. Rasheeda really needs to leave Kirk ugly self alone!

"Why not? It's not like you're the new kid." She laughed.

"Yea but I'm a new me. And they are probably new too. I just don't feel like explaining why I left." I finally looked away from the tv. Her face got serious.

"Oh honey don't let me and your dad's life interfere with yours." She said.

"It already has." I said louder than I intended it to be. She looked kind of hurt.

"Sorry for yelling." I said softly.

"No. I deserved it." And with that being said she walked away.

~Morning~

Dress or skirt? Jordans or heels? Hair up or hair down? See, these are the cons of the new student's first day back.

I wore my Bulls jersey, leggings, and Jordans. I let my natural curls hang. I applied a little make up but nothing much. This should be fun.

Amir POV

The guys and I posted up in the halls since we are the senior basketball players. We are the most popular boys in the school. I mean it has it's pros and cons.

"I heard the spring dance was coming up." My best friend, Josh, nudged me.

"Yea? Who you taking?" I asked.

"I was thinking about taking Kia." He said.

Why her? She ran through the whole squad.

"Cool." I simply said.

"Who you taking? Georgia?" He smirked.

Georgia is my friend....with benefits. I been fooling with her since I was a freshman. For some reason I can't let her go.

Before I could answer I saw this beautiful girl walk right through the doors.

"Yo, who is she? She fine!" My other friend, Keith bit his bottom lip.

It look like I seen her before.

"She is cute." I agreed. She looked around and walked right past us. She left her berry perfume behind.

"Man I need to talk to her." Josh crazy behind followed up behind her.

Jordan POV

I'm looking for the office and this boy is following behind me. I let it slide when we were on the first two halls but now it's just getting creepy.

"What do you want?" I turned around quickly to meet the light skinned boy. He was decent looking I guess. I'm not a fan of light skinned boys though.

"You look lost." He smirked.

"Where's the office?" I asked.

He pointed down the hall to a door on the left.

"Thanks love."

"No problem beautiful." He smiled and walked off.

I walked into the office and saw a man sitting at a desk with a serious look. He look like he don't play.

"Excuse me." I managed to say.

He looked up at me as if I was disrupting him from doing something.

"Yes?" He said irritable. This reminded me of a situation at my old school

"And what do you want now Jordan?" Principle Girds asked.

See I hate when people get a attitude with me for no reason.

"Why you got to be so hateful?" I frowned.

"Excuse me?" She sounded caught off guard.

"You heard me you old winch! I'm trying not to put my hands on you but you making it hard." My hands have longed to wrap around her lil skinny neck.

"You need-"

"Don't tempt me." I warned.

Of course that was in my reckless days. I wouldn't dare snap on anyone like that anymore. I have grown and matured.

"I'm the new student, Jordan Collins." I smiled politely. He stared at me for a minute and then looked through some papers.

"Here's your schedule. I hope you enjoy Chicago High School." He said with a forced smile. I snatched my schedule and left out.

"I'm a new me. I'm a new me. I'm a new me." I kept repeating to myself.

I walked in my first class and everyone looked at me.

Okay don't you hate when people watch your every move? They be paying so close attention that it creeps you out.

"Hey." I said out loud.

"Oh. You must be the new student." The young teacher turned from the board and gave me a friendly smile.

"Yelp." I popped the p. I looked around for that one person but my teacher began talking to me.

"Introduce yourself." She said. I was afraid she might say that.

"I'm Jordan Collins. Some of you may know me back from middle school." I began recognizing faces. I saw slutty Sarah. Crazy Carly. Horny Harry. I even saw.....no that's not him. That boy is too built and mature looking.

"You can go sit beside Amir." She pointed to the empty desk next to the boy I knew was Amir.

I sat down awkwardly next to him. He didn't even look my way. He just watched the teacher write on the board. Everybody started their own conversations when it was almost time to go.

"Hey." I turned my body facing him.

"Bye." The bell rang and he got up without another word.
