the paintbrush glided across the canvas like a swan on water as the artwork came to a finish. the last stroke ended, completing the work and satisfying the painter.

"ah, finally." namjoon grinned. he stopped his music from his phone, a ritual he did whenever he finished a piece in order to assess it with complete concentration.

"perfect" he said, moments after analysing it to its depths. he hung it straight up to dry and immediately switched the music back on. he couldn't deal with silence for too long anyways.

next was a commission piece. some random teen had walked into his shop requesting a painting inspired by the famous artwork series "sunflowers" by van gogh, and namjoon had no idea how to start it.

the ideas that were usually flowing through his brain like wildfire had stopped as soon as he'd thought to the commission, hitting the painters equivalent to a writers block. his eyes wandered out the small tinted window of his shop's backroom in search of some kind of inspiration, his eyes falling onto the flower shop across the road.

he gasped, an idea rushing through his head like running water — himself doing the same — as he packed up his supplies and bolted out the store, not even stopping to switch the sign from open to closed. not that many people came in, anyways, so he didn't worry about it.

he sped through the door of the flower shop so quickly, he hit right into a display next to it. as his cheeks blushed, he looked up to see who noticed. his eyes meeting that of a man with a wide grin on his face, the joy meeting his eyes.
