"Sans? Sans!? SANS!!!" Papyrus said to his brother Sans while shaking him to wake him up from his deep, deep slumber. "Hnng... What is it, bro..?" Sans groaned as he was slowly opening his eyes to see Papyrus standing beside him. "Do you not know what time it is?" Papyrus asked Sans, crossing his arms.

"Actually, no bro. What time is it?" Papyrus sighed, annoyed with his brother. "It's time for you to patrol! Now, get out of your bed and go get ready for your patrolling session. I'll be waiting outside for you. YOU BETTER NOT GO DOWNSTAIRS 10 MINUTES LATE."

Papyrus then walked out of Sans' room, closing the door behind him, going down the stairs, and finally got out of the house through its main
entrance. After his brother left, Sans slowly stood up in a sitting position in bed. He didn't want to get out of bed.

He didn't want to do any work too, but he had no choice. He had to make his brother proud. His brother always finds everyday as a challenge. Papyrus always wanted to join the Royal Guard. He infinitely dreams of being part of that organization. He knows that today is the day.

The day when he'll actually catch a human.

Sans smiled at that thought and chuckled. He looked at the number of X's on cube-shaped pages in a blue notebook. He kept on flipping the pages until the last page. '164 days... Huh. I guess the 165th day will be the lucky day. I hope,' Sans thought as he closed his notebook and threw it across the room.

Sans was a lazy type of skeleton. He doesn't want to fix his stuff nor get out of bed. He may be lazy, but he's a powerful skeleton. He has the magic to summon bones and Gaster Blasters. He rarely sees his brother summon a Gaster Blaster, unless he can't do so. 'But that's merely impossible..' Sans thought, for they were brothers.

Aren't they supposed to have the same powers?

Sans shook his head and got off his bed. He grabbed his hoodie and wore it casually, tucking in his skeleton hands in the hoodie's pockets. As he headed towards the door of his room, he saw something in the corner of his eye. He turned around and walked towards the item.

It was a family picture of him, Papyrus and—

Sans stared at it blankly. Then he started to grin and said, 'Heh.' He stared at Papyrus' innocent and jubilant smile. Papyrus was an energetic skeleton. A skeleton who would always be determined and would infinitely push through tough times in order to help others and to reach his dreams.

Sans was happy to have a brother like Papyrus. He wishes that nothing terrible will happen to his brother. He would be in great anxiety and wrath if Papyrus died. He would do anything to avenge his brother.

Even if it takes the life of someone.

Sans folded the picture and kept it in one of his pockets. He then opened the door of his bedroom, walked towards the staircase, walked down it, went towards the front door, and finally opened it. He saw Papyrus standing a few centimeters away from him. "You're late for 5 minutes!! What took you so long?!" Papyrus screamed at his brother.

Sans chuckled. "Sorry, bro," he said. Papyrus led out a sigh. "It's okay brother. I forgive you. C'mon! Let's go to your patrol station. Maybe a human has already passed by!" He said as he was already walking towards Sans' patrol station. "Heh. Right behind ya, bro." Sans said and followed his brother towards his station.
