~Chapter 35~

Third person's point of view.

When Mito got back there were some members missing, nothing unusual, they got jobs and missions regularly and only stayed long enough to recuperate and then leave when they were ready for a new job, in Deidara's case after losing his arms and Sasori to the leaf ninjas everyone was urged to be more cautious and to more or less avoid confrontation if possible. 

As Mito was coming into the joint sitting room, Tobi was sailing towards her, his arms and legs out like a star as he aimed to hug her, tsking and glaring she spun on the ball of her foot and kicked him into a wall, sitting up from the rubble he asked why she kicked him away but she was still in a pissy mood from what happened with Sasuke and simply glared,

The members were still not used to her new eye and when she glared at them it was very intimidating, they couldn't figure out if it was a mix of her natural colours or if it was just a mix of the deep blue in her right being so much more enchanting and the deep powerful red in her left, but even with any or all of those things, she was scary.

And that's a lot coming for them. "Mito, you're back, that was quick." Pein said coming into the sitting room to see what was happening, "It wasn't necessary for me to go, Sasuke already killed him." Pein was surprised, "Was it done before or after you got there?" he asked and she relaxed a bit, "He was in the middle of it when I showed up." Pein nodded, 

"Then I apologize for sending you there and wasting your time," she nodded accepting his apology and ghosted around him to her room, Pein looked at Itachi and nodded discreetly for the older Uchiha to follow the blonde girl and see if she's okay. It wasn't a secret that Mito dated Sasuke, and that they broke up when he left, 

Everything else in her life just seemed to go downhill from there, Itachi getting up and leaving the room he waited until no one saw him before running to her room, when he got there she was sitting in the corner, the lights were off and the curtains drawn closed. Over her body was a sheet from her bed and her head was leaning against her knees.

"Mito?" Itachi called and knelt in front of her, she looked up a bit and her eyes were dull and emotionless. "What did he do?" Itachi asked knowing she would never get this upset about anything that didn't involve either himself, Sasuke, or Naruto. Shaking her head she didn't want to talk about it.

She just wanted a distraction. Anything to take her mind off of Sasuke and what he did, "Talk to me, I want to help even if it's just listening." he said holding her shoulders so he could pull her away and look her in the eye. She was still quiet for a moment more until she backed for some space. 

"I know you do, but what I need is something to distract me," she said and turned her head a bit, looking at her, really looking at her, Itachi could see that her lips were red and a small bite mark was visible on her bottom lip, her hair was also messy but it was windblown like it usually was, "He kissed you, didn't he." Itachi said and she gritted her teeth and frowned, 

"But that isn't what bothered you, it's because of why he left and what he plans to do." she hated that he could see right through her, all these months she repaired her bond with Itachi, which will all be for nothing when he went up against Sasuke. Growling she punched the wall once and it cracked, plaster fell from the wall and her knuckles when she pulled her hand back.
