"And that's just what we need." Mike smiled, taking the cube out of Brad's hand and walking towards the door.
"What about Chester though?" Dave asked. Mike stopped in his tracks. He hadn't really thought about what to do about his boyfriend. He did know that once they found him, he was gonna try to convince the older man into joining the five of them. He wanted Chester to finally get revenge on the people who done him wrong in the past. It was only right. He never thought on what to do about him before finding him though.
"Capture him." Mike said. "That's the only way we'll be able to get him here. He'll listen to me. I know he will, but he has the most dangerous defyer out of the four. If he doesn't use it correctly, something horrible will happen and we need that thing back anyways."
The other four looked at each other solemnly. They didn't want to capture Chester. That was their best friend. They've known him for years now and it's not like Chester had done anything wrong to them.
Mike could sense that they were uneasy about having to capture Chester, so he said, "Look. I don't want to do this either..." He stopped for a few seconds to close his eyes. The thought of how they would get a hold of his boyfriend flooded through his mind so quickly. They'd probably have to have him at gunpoint, or hurt him in some way until they finally got Chester. This was necessary though. All of them had to do this, including him. "We have to though. I can't risk something happening to him with the cube or out in the middle of nowhere by himself." Mike finished his sentence.
They all nodded in understanding, then headed out with the bomb defyer in hand. They'd pick stuff up to capture Chester along the way to the center of the place, bomb it then go out looking for the man. That's all they could do right now.
------------------------------------------------------------
After walking for what seemed to be forever, Chester finally found a small town, and the middle of nowhere was now somewhere. He smiled in happiness, remembering that Mike took him here once, but then he remembered all that happened. That second night they were there... When he got raped.
His smile toned down from that memory, but he still had hope. Hope that he could find somewhere to stay at such short notice. He walked around for a while. Everyone there was a lot nicer than he remember. "Welcome." A small girl told him as he walked into a clothing store. He figured he need something different to wear tomorrow and he wouldn't have time to do any of that stuff then, so now was probably the best time. "What brings you here at this time?" The girl asked him.
"Well, I was walking around and got lost." Chester half lied. "Is the store still opened or do you want me to leave."
A rather large lady walked up to him from the other side of the small shop. "Oh no, mister. It's fine." She smiled, pushing her long, black hair behind her ear so her eyes were showing. "We'd be glad to assist you. The store is opened twenty four hours of course."
"Oh." Chester sighed in relief. "I thought I was probably disturbing you people."
"No, not at all. Go on. Have a look around. I'm sure you'll find something you like." The lady told him with a big smile on her face.
"Thanks." Chester said, finally starting to walk around. He found things very quickly. He picked up a white t-shirt, a dark gray hoodie and denim jeans. After trying them on to see if they fit, he bought them then left.
There was a problem after that. Where was he gonna sleep tonight? He didn't think that through when he left home. Hell, he thought none of this through being honest. But there had to be somewhere. That hotel him and Mike stayed in is probably really expensive and it's on the other side of the town anyway. He was too tired to walk that distance. He started looking around. Maybe there was some place...
Aha! He had found a small motel that was opened. He ran over to the front doors then walked inside. The bell at the top of the door rung and a man quickly got up and said, "Welcome, sir. What brings you here this late."
"Um..." Chester paused trying to think of something to this man that wasn't, "My boyfriend is a killer and I ran away with this cube and yeah, can I sleep here for the night?"
"Ooh, really? Dang." The guy said apologetically. "Well, I'll get a room for you right away. I would hate for someone with a man like that in their life to be stranded out in the open."
"What?" Chester asked confused. "Wait, I didn't say that stuff..."
"You did, sir. But that's fine. As long as he didn't follow you here, you can stay for free. It'll be perfectly okay with me and my coworkers." He explained while rummaging through his desk door. "And my boss is never around anyway so... Take this." He threw Chester the keys to the room. He caught it easily and looked at the tiny gold key attached to a small looped string. "It's room J-20-17. You'll like it in there. I promise." He gave Chester a smile.
"Thanks, um..."
"Patrick. My coworkers Pete, Joe, and Andy and I will help you with everything you need."
"Thanks." Chester smiled for the first time since walking into the building. "Are you sure you don't want me to pay though. I have some money and."
"No, really it's fine. Go on to your room now. Okay?"
Chester nodded then went to go find the room.
It took him a few minutes of turning and walking back from one point to another, but once he got to the door and opened it up he was amazed. This room looked like it was one of their fancier ones. It was huge, with dark wood flooring, black leather furniture, golden marble side tables and a coffee table to match. There was a huge black rug made with material that looked like fur where the couch and loveseat were and golden curtains to cover up the windows. And that was only the living room.
"Wow." Chester gasped. He sat the bag of clothes and the cude down on one of the side tables and sat on the loveseat. He quickly got comfortable and let this thoughts drift away.
He let out a sigh. He wished Mike was with him. The half-asian would've loved this room. Especially the snake parted in with the marble on top of the coffee table. He's been seeing those things lately, hasn't he...
He sighed again and thought about Mike. That hair he grew out over the winter because he thought it would look good - which it did to Chester, no matter how many times he joked about it - and a new look never killed anyone. Those eyes that were the perfect dark brown and always filled with some kind of attention in them, whether it was on Chester or on his art. Those lips that tasted so sweet and felt so smooth whenever they kissed. How he walked... Mike...
Chester hit himself on the head.
"I shouldn't have left Mike back at the house." Chester thought to himself. "I should've tried talking the whole situation through with him. That's what usually happens. And Mike is probably crushed under all that damage. Maybe he's dead..." Fear was starting to get to him now and he felt tears threaten to form at the ends of his eyes.
"No, Mike couldn't be dead..." He told himself then smiled smally, trying to make the situation a bit better.
"But he could be hurt. God, I should've at least checked to see if he was okay."
"Yeah, and then leave him there. 'Oh, good, you're okay, bye!'" He mocked himself. Damn, his mind was not working with him at the moment.
Then a reminder came up. Mike threatened to kill him. What was the chance that he wouldn't have tried to do it again afterwards? Sure, Mike was his boyfriend and all but... This is different. It's a kind of situation where that didn't matter, no matter how much Chester wished it did. It was a kind of situation where Mike was after something - in this case a weird, glowy box thing that destroyed places - and nothing was gonna stop him from getting it.
Chester finally decided that him running away was most likely the best thing to happen. Maybe he could go back tomorrow and see if Mike was by any chance still at home, even though it was probably a pile of waste right now. That's all he could do anyway.
