"Psst! Audrey!"
I jumped out of my bed.
"Audrey! Open the window!"
I got up and opened my window. "Simon! What the heck?!?!"
I rolled my eyes as Simon shoved me to get inside. He fell down on my floor with a crash.
"You're going to wake the whole neighborhood with your clumsiness. What are you doing here? It's 12 am!"
Simon got up and brushed himself off. "Good lord, woman. You're going to make me deaf before I turn 18. Good thing I'm hopelessly in love with you."
I slapped his arm when he tried to hug me. Simon pouted his lips as I sat down on my bed. "Seriously though. What's up?"
"I knew you couldn't sleep. You get way to riled up about things. One of the reasons why I love you, but I knew that I had to fix that. Let's go out."
I widened my eyes. "Simon McKeller, I have to wake up at 7 tomorrow. We're not sneaking out."
He shrugged. "Your choice."
Simon jumped out my window and landed with a crash. You'd think by now he would've mastered jumping out of a window, but nope he's still as clumsy as can be.
I weighed my options: stay inside and mope, or enjoy the last night of summer with a bang. I closed my window to get dressed. I hate what he can do to me.

I hopped into Simon's Jeep. "Where are you whisking me off to Si?"
He smirked as he adjusted the side-mirrors, "Let's just say it's a surprise."
I rolled onto my side, "Well, I'm going to sleep, don't crash the car."
I could hear him chuckle, "You don't trust me, sweetheart?"
I smiled as I closed my eyes, "Not one bit."

"Audrey." I groaned. "C'mon you stubborn person, we're here."
I slowly opened my eyes to see Simon's face inches from mine. I sat up and slapped his face away.
I smirked as I saw Simon rub his cheek. "What was that for?"
"For scaring me."
He rolled his eyes as he opened his door, "Well we're here. I'd suggest you get out."
I got out of his car and gasped.
Simon's surprise was a beach, but it didn't feel like an ordinary one. The sand felt cool against my skin, and the moon cast a light on the water that made it feel magical.
Simon smiled as he took in my awed expression, "I knew you'll like it. Come on."
I followed him down the beach and we took a seat right by the water's edge. I sighed as we watched the waves. "Audrey?"
I looked into Simon's blue eyes, "Hmm?"
"Whatever happens this year, know that I love you and my heart is constricting just at the idea of losing you."
I literally melted at his words. "Don't worry, I would never leave my knight in shining armor."
As I started to fall asleep, I swore I heard Simon faintly whisper, "I love you Audrey."
