Hey people! So before I begin the chapter I just wanted to say, I saw the movie "God's Not Dead." Finally! It was such an amazing movie! If you are atheist, or Christian, or of any faith, go watch it! Every side puts up a great argument! And if you have seen it, I can't stop thinking about how the pastors car wouldn't start and when it finally did, he was in the right place to save someone's life! IT WAS AMAZING! You just have to see it, it's so emotional and I don't care who you are, you will love it! :D Okay, there is my movie suggestion! Enjoy the chapter!

We have attended a Church service every night, and a lot of people come in without their best on. At least, that's what I thought. I figured they would show a little respect rather than showing up to everything in rags, but it turns out that was all they had. Clove's father told me that they couldn't just go to the store or mall like we can, because it is at least 20 miles away from where most of them live, and they don't have cars so they have to walk. He also told me that what they had on was their best, and they wore it everyday. That was until yesterday, where we gave everyone new clothes. The only problem is, they all got one new set of everything. One new shirt, one new pair of pants, one new pair of shoes, one new dress. That won't last them long, and by new it's only new to them. These clothes were donations from the people in our town; in fact I gave a 16 year old a dress that i recognized as the one my mother made me give away. Not that it bothered me.
"Thank you so much." The young girl said to me, with the biggest smile on her face. "This is the most beautiful things i've ever received." And she hugged me. I always thought the dress was much to faded, and the colors were ugly. Purple and Green don't really look well together, but she had probably never had a dress before in her life, so this was special to her. Right now, we are working on building a better church here for them. The one they have now is so small, and though not many people come to it, most end up sitting outside with hopes they can hear the message. The one room building will now be three, maybe four times as big with separate rooms for younger kids. It's hard work, but it will be worth it when everyone is able to be inside for Sunday service. We have decided to take a break, and we are eating our lunch. I'm next to Peeta, who ended up taking his shirt off like most of the guys. I mean, it's really hot here. At night, they give us big fans to cool us off.
"We are so used to the heat here, we don't need the fans." They told us. These people are so content with what little they have.
"Katniss?" Peeta says beside me, handing me a bottle of water. I thank him and take a sip, my thoughts still consuming me. How many people here die every year, or everyday from the lack of food and medicine? How can we be so selfish and take everything we have for granet, when these people have to wonder where their next meal will come from? How many of them actually get that meal?
"Kat are you alright?" Peeta says.
"Not really, I mean, everyone here is so grateful for the things we brought them. And to us, they were things we thought were ugly and didn't need anymore." I rest my head on his shoulder.
"But you see, they like what we bring, so to them it's as if Christmas has come early." He sets down his own water. "You have no idea, the effect you can have."
"You're right, let's just help them as much as possible while we are here."
That's been the plan since the start." He leans down and gives me a quick kiss. He pulls away, but not for more than 2 seconds before he puts his lips back to mine. With him, I don't have to try to feel something like I did with Gale. That's a curse and a blessing. Because right now isn't the time, with a lot of people around and the fact that we on a missions trip doesn't help either. I pull away before I get to caught up in the moment.
"Later." I say in a whisper. We finish our lunch and we wait for more instructions. Soon enough, someone has asked us to get back to work. After only 20 minutes of working, People came around to ask for volunteers to go a few mile up the road to a beach. Apparently there had been a bad storm here last week and people are recovering from the high winds and damage. People were hurt, and they need medicine.
"I volunteer!" I say loudly, afraid they won't hear me and won't allow me to go. I get a few weird stares, but more people begin to volunteer as well, Peeta is among them. We have to walk there, and of course it's still hot. I try to keep my mind off of the children here. Their little hands, shoe less feet, and lonely eyes looking back at me with hope that will disappear as soon as we leave. When we get to the beach, many people wait in lines for their wounds to be attended.
"Does anyone here know anything about healing?" Someone asks.
"Um, I do. My mother is a part time doctor and I've picked up a few things."
"Great, we will send the most hurt to you." Oh, I wasn't expecting that. I mean, I know some things but not everything. And I really don't like to be around wounds. But t isn't about me right now, it's about them.
"Okay." I take Peeta's hand because I know I will need help getting through this. We are lead to a station were they have as many medical supplies as they can gather, but even that isn't much.
"Everyone that comes also gets a vitamin, It may not seem like a lot but it helps them tremendously." I am told and I only nod. The first person to us has a deep cut on her forehead, right above the eyebrow. It looks like she has tried to stop the bleeding herself but noting has happened. It could easily be infected. I make her take the vitamin, and I let her sit down in my chair. She is probably 35 years old, and two children stay by Peeta while I begin to operate. As well as I can, I clean the wound with some water. It looks like it stings, but she doesn't dare make a sound. I can't exactly numb her forehead, they don't have that kind of thing here, so I just get to work on stitching it. The look of pain on her face makes me upset, but I know in the end it will help. When I finish, I put a cream over it so it won't itch because the last thing we need is for it to open up again.
"You are all fixed." I say smiling. She returns the smiles, kisses my cheek, and grabs the hands of both her kids.
"Thank you." With that, they walk away.
"I gave the kids vitamins. I mean, the are more venerable after all." Peeta says.
"Good." For the next six hours I treat various wounds. One person had an obvious broken leg. So I snapped the bone back into place as well as I could, and with two sturdy tree branches, I put them on either side of his leg and taped around it so it would stay straight. While I did that, Peeta found me more branches that I carved into crutches as best as I could. Peeta picked think branches, so they were well enough to hold the man's weight.
"May God bless you." He said with a smile. He waddled away on his crutches. After the day was over, we went back to where we started. Peeta stayed by me the whole time, even at the most repulsive wounds I didn't throw up. We get back, eat a very late dinner, and everyone goes straight to bed. Married couple get a room together, but singles have to sleep in a room with the same gender, luckily I was able to get a room with Clove.
"So how was being a doctor?" She asks when I walk in.
"Oh you know, just awesome." I take off my shoes and sit on my bed. "Um, I'm meeting Peeta later tonight when everyone is asleep." I tell her.
"Oh yeah? I just hope for your sake my dad doesn't find out."
"We weren't even on the list to come here." I say and I lay down. "I just need to rest for a few minutes." With that, I close my eyes and drift off to sleep.

When I wake, I know I've slept to long. A look at my phone says it's 12:00 a.m! (00:00) I was supposed to meet Peeta an hours ago. I get out of bed, and quickly put on my shoes. I quietly but quickly rush out the door and to the spot we agreed to meet at. As I approach, I don't see him, but when I sit underneath the tall tree, I hear him coming, so I decide to mess with him.
"Oh Peeta, Peeta, wherefore art thou Peeta? Deny thy Father and refuse thy name. Or if thou wilt not, be sworn my love. And I'll no longer be an Everdeen." I say as if he isn't there, and I'm looking off into the distance.
"Shall I hear more? Or shall I speak at this?" He says right behind me now.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't know you knew Shakespeare." I say.
"Well, just that line. It is the most famous am I wrong?" He sits beside me.
"You're correct." I sigh. "Meeting in secret again..."
"Not really, not for the reasons before."
"You know, we were kind of the present Romeo and Juliet weren't we? I mean, our parents hated each other and we had to meet in private." I say laughing.
"True, I just hope the ending can be altered a little." He leans over and kisses me, his hands on my thighs as I lean against the tree. Peeta usually isn't this intense, so I'm taken by surprised. A feeling of warmth courses through my body, this is our first real kiss, and it feels... amazing? Is that a word to describe a kiss? My hands wrap around his neck, his lips never leaving mine. Butterflies in my stomach? More like birds, and they are going crazy. His touch brings me alive, and I feel a spark of something rush through my veins. My chest becomes tight, and I smile underneath our kiss.
"You know what?" Peeta says, pulling away.
"What?" I say a little breathless.
"I think I may like you." He smirks at me.
"Wow, I had no idea." I grab him and pull him back to me, our lips meeting halfway, and that warm stirring in my stomach returns.
