Chapter Twenty

Elton: Sam's alive Colby
12:13pm

I let go of the trigger.....

"Sir! Sir are you okay? Answer me!" I hear. I open my eyes and see I'm on the roof and a old man in a janitor uniform sitting next to me.

"What did you do?" I ask quietly. I feel a sharp pain in my shoulder. As I look down I see blood.

"I saved your life son. Give me your hand. The gun hit your shoulder." The old man says.

"No! I'm supposed to die! The bullet wasnt supposed to hit my shoulder. My friend is dead and its because of me! Where's my gun!" I scream as tears roll down my cheeks.

"Boy! Calm down!" The old man says grabbing my arm. I look at the old man as tears roll down my cheek.

"Go see this friend. Remeber him and get that shoulder fixed." The old man says as he hands me my phone. I look at it and look at all the messages.

Elton: Sam's alive Colby

My eyes go wide as I look up at the old man. I give him a small hug as I rush down the steps and walk into the street.

Colby: On my way..

I rush over to my car quickly before taking a deep breath and leaning my head back.

"For fucks sake, thank you." I say to no one in particular. I put the car in drive and drive to the hospital quickly. Once I arrive I rush over to Sam's room.

I breath in before I calmly turn around and walk inside knocking softly. I watch Corey and Elton look up and smile before standing up and revealing Sam.

I see his eyes....I see his real color....his hair is clean and neat....and that dumb smile of his is on his face.

"S-sam?" I say softly trying not to cry.

"It's me Colby." Sam says. I walk over to him slowly and look at the other two. They open the door and leave quickly.

"I - I......Sam I can't believe..."

"Come here." Sam says opening his arms. I immediately hug him tightly as the tears flow freely damping his shirt.

"Colby. Your bleeding."

"I dont care. I- I thought I lost you......I almost did something fucking stupid Sam. So fucking stupid....I - I was so lost and...."

"Shhh, it's fine. I'm fine." Sam says pushing me back softly. We look each other in the eye and he wipes my tears away.

"B-but how?"

"Well apparently when I had a seizure and I died they used those electric pads that shock the body and that brought me alive." Sam says casually.

"Did you hear me?"

"Sometimes. It was like being underwater. I heard you clearly sometimes and other times not at all."

"Sam......I'm so sorry. For everything. I caused you pain and I can't forgive myself. I've fought with you and I've done so much damage......when you were gone I couldn't even handle myself. Knowing you were out there and then you ending up in the hospital..." I say crying once again, "I was so lost Sam. I didn't know what to do. I kept blamming me. It got bad Sam, it really did. I --- dammit Sam.....I love you." I say looking Sam in the eye as tears roll down my cheeks.

"Colby....you do?"

I nod my head slowly and look down. I feel his finger under my chin and he slowly brings my head up.

"Colby......I do too and I have for a long time."

"You do?" I say as he wipes my tears once again.

"I do." Sam says as he pulls me into a tight hug.

"Are you okay?" I ask softly as I pull away. I give him that certain looks and he smiles nodding his head.

"Are you sure?"

"Positive Colby. I've never felt better in such a long time, even if I did just wake up from a coma." He says laughing. I laugh too at his humor.

He quickly calls a nurse so she could fix my shoulder. After a few hours I walk back into Sam's room and smile at him.

I quickly lay down next to me as he puts his arms around me.

"Is your shoulder okay?"

"Yeah it is."

"Good. I was worried." Sam says softly.

"I'm glad I'm here...." I whisper thinking about the Old man.

"Me too Colby. Me too."
