Sway

Your drug addled mind was a step out of line

From my course I'd not deviate this time

Though the remainder of your traits are divine

I could not partake in the pleasure of your crime

What sway you held over me but never knew

As is the moon ignorant of the tide

As you waxed, and so my infatuation grew

Until orbits break and calamities collide

Landfall never did I reach

Broke apart upon the sea

As you danced on starlit beach

And I drowned in misery

Perhaps someday I will wash ashore

Leave for you a token of what was unspoken

Yea, a dreg, and nothing more

For as I am all I give is broken

I'll bottle this wish with a seal

In hopes you'll sift it with the sand

And lighten your heart should you feel

What I wished for you was rather grand
