Snow shimmered in the sky.  The ground glistened with snow.  Streetlights lit the night sky.  Under that same light, Hermione and Ron were strolling through the soft snow.  So far they had walked in silence but Hermione didn’t care; she was content to just be with him.  Watching the sparkling snow fall from the clouds, she started thinking.

Even when she was supposed to be relaxing, she couldn’t stop thinking.  She thought about her relationship with Ron that had recently blossomed or the year at Hogwarts she had missed.  Three weeks had passed since the Battle of Hogwarts that had put a stop to everybody’s lives.  In those three weeks, the Ministry had rebuilt Hogwarts along with many witches and wizards who had fond memories of the castle.  With love in their hearts and a fire in their eyes, Mrs. Weasley, Mr. Weasley, Bill, Charlie, Ron, Ginny, Harry, and Hermione had helped reconstruct their castle along with their best memories.

George was the only one too dejected to tag along or even cause trouble.  None of them could deny, despite the trouble and ruckus he usually caused, the loss of Fred had them all in shock.  Every morning, Hermione woke up expecting to hear the loud bangs Fred normally produced along with George, but they were never there.

Throughout the period spent on the castle, Hermione and Ron had worked closely together.  The after effects of the war caused people to cling closely to those they loved.  The case was no different with Ron and her.  For 3 weeks, Ron had been at her side, never leaving it for a moment.  It had not bothered Hermione at all.  She loved Ron so much nothing mattered anymore.  Except school.

Thoughts of the past weeks and months consumed Hermione’s mind as Ron lead her towards a light post.

“May I have this dance?” Ron asked suddenly.  Whatever Hermione had been expecting, it wasn’t this.

“Umm...what?” Hermione replied confused.  Grabbing her hand, Ron started dancing.  He was an awful dancer, but it was charming that he was trying.  She pulled in and as suddenly as Ron’s dance request, she met her lips with his.  They had not enjoyed this luxury since their shared moment in the middle of the war.  Ron pulled away and smiled his heart-melting smile at Hermione.  She beamed.  It was from that moment on that they knew they always be together.
