thomas pov

"tommy- do you like me calling you tommy? anyway, where are we going? oh what's that?" dylan rambled as i took him for a tour of the campus.

"dylan, stop rambling"

"answer my question" dylan playfully glared at me, making me smile.

"which one? you asked three"

"oh, i did?"

"yes you did dyl"

"i like that nickname"

"i like the nickname tommy too" dylan ran towards a big building, turning around to wave me over. i chuckled at dylan's everlasting energy and hurried up to catch up to the slightly taller boy.

"this is the main theatre, the clubs considered important practice in here" i explained, looking at dylan's back as he admired the stage.

"where do the other clubs practice?" dylan turned around, looking at me.

"in theatre b"

"oh" dylan looked sad for a split second but his face lit up seconds later, running towards me and dragging me out of the theatre by mywrist, "let's go to theatre b!" dylan yelled. i refused to object and just followed dylan, trying not to blush at the fact that dylan wasn't letting go of my wrist.

we ran out of the theatre and i lead dylan to theatre b.

"hey fags!" i turned around, seeing a group of sketchy boys standing there.

"w-what?" dylan said, looking so scared that my stomach flipped and i just wanted to protect dylan.

"i see you two are some confident faggots, walking around here holding hands" dylan looked down at his hand holding my wrist but his hand was so far down my wrist, it looked like we were holding hands.

"i'm holding his wrist?" dylan looked confused, obviously not experiencing homophobia directed at him before.

"fucking faggots. go find some girls and bang 'em and stop being gay" one of the guys said.

"first of all, i'm gay because i like boys and 'banging girls' will do nothing to change that. second of all, this guy here is straight. third of all, are you guys from the 1970s or something? it's 2018 grow the fuck up and learn that i like men just like any other straight girl does. now run along back to your parents who probably instilled this bullshit about gay people in your heads" i fumed.

"you think you're real tough don't ya?" the 'main' guy said, taking a step towards me.

i didn't want to get in a fight in front of dylan so instead of retaliating, i grabbed dylan's actual hand and left.

"tommy?" dylan asked, a few minutes after walking away the gang.

"what?" i said a little too quickly, which scared dylan. "sorry" i said, my face softening.

"i was just going to point out that you're still holding my hand" dylan said quietly as if he was too shy to say it loudly.

"oh" i continued to walk, not letting go of dylan's hand.
