I knew I wasn't supposed to be eavesdropping, but I couldn't help myself.

I stared at her delicate features, her large blue eyes were cloaked in tears, her plump, pink lips trembling on her pale face. "You're breaking up with me...here...at a petrol station?"

The overly tan, brown-headed boy nodded, ashamed for what he did, yet relieved.

Immense sobbing came from the girl as her sun-bleached hair covered her face.

Vacantly looking for something else, I found Talon, clutching a carton of milk. I gave the scenario one more sympathetic glance, and walked away from the corner, pulling myself away from their personal lives.

"Ready to go?" Talon asked. I nodded.

"What's the matter?" Talon was always one to quickly notice something, even the smallest thing.

"It's nothing, we should get going. You're mums probably waiting for us."

His face questioned my every move. "If you say so."

The door violently opened, a strong gust of wind following. A loud bang echoed through the shop and the Barbie doll who was crying a minute ago screamed.

Talon and I both stared at the door. A bulky man dressed from head to toe in black studied the building. His face covered in a full face beanie with three jagged holes cut out for his eyes and mouth. In his right hand was a simple grey gun, the same gun that triggered the loud bang.

Panic flowed swiftly through my veins as the adrenaline echoed through my frozen body. A low gasp came from next to me. Talon and I looked at each other, not knowing what to do. His sun-kissed hands flowed through his fluffy, brown hair. His jawline clenched and his cheekbones defined.

"Money. Now!" The deviant looking man said, pointing his gun with both hands at the cashier. The cashier was crying, opening up the cash box with her pink acrylic nails. Her straightened brown hair flicked past her shoulders as her redshirt crinkled with her every movement.

The man locked eyes with Talon, as I felt him tremble next to me. "Hurry up or I shoot this boy!" The Gunman pointed his gun at Talon.

The cashier moved faster.

On the man, I noticed that there were two treble clefs, each red and blue, tattooed on each wrist.

"Don't shoot him or I will hunt you down!" The boy with the over-done tan hollered. I cringed, he was trying to be the hero, but he didn't know how to, so he relied on a stupid, cheesy line from a stupid, cheesy movie.

The blonde from earlier death glared at him, anger still lurking in her eyes."Maybe don't threaten the dude with a gun, Matt." she said through clenched teeth.

"Here." The cashier interrupted. I could barely see it, but it was there - a smirk from the man. "1024 dollars"

The man went to grab the bag, his hand slipping and pulling the trigger.

Shooting Talon right on the shoulder.

I screamed, gawking and Talon's body lifelessly drop onto the gun. Blood leaked from onto his white shirt. His ripped jeans latching onto his lifeless legs.

I looked onto the black dressed man, but he was gone, leaving behind a swinging door. The cashier started crying in a corner, the blondie and Matt came up to me."

"Ohmygod oh my god, he's shot, wha-" blondie blabbered on as I reached for my phone. I felt an empty space in my pocket, it wasn't there.

"Damn it! Someone call 911!" I screamed directly at her. She stared at me in a scared manner.

"Just do it, Claire, call the god damn police." Her ex-boyfriend pleaded.

Claire got out her pink sparkly phone and dialed these three numbers. She spoke with the man on the other line, filling in details and replying with yes to anything she understood.

I stared at Talon, his eyes were borderline open. "Stay with me, Talon." I knew saying this won't do anything, but in my mind, it helped me clutch onto him for a tiny bit longer.

Claire looked at me. "Do we have a first aid kit?"

"For god's sake, we're in a convenience store, what do you think?" I replied.

Matt got a hold of things and yelled at the traumatized cashier to tell him where the first-aid kits were. He darted somewhere and came back with a packaged kit.

"Okay, so you have to put pressure on the wound with the bandages," Claire muttered to me. Pulling out the beige colored bandages I wrapped Talon's firm shoulder. "the ambulance should be here any second."

Within cue, sirens blared onto the car park, two grey headed paramedics followed in with equipment.

Everything surged into a hazy blur, and within minutes I was in the ambulance, racing off with Talon dying next to me.

Authors Note:
Here's a preview of what the base of the book is revolved around: Talon getting shot and what's about to happen after that. So far, I have put this under the category of short-story, as this is just the beginning. The rest of the chapters will be longer than this so if you liked this, but due to this being under subject for the completion of the story, it's much shorter. The same goes for a more improved blurb because right now it's kinda basic.

Hopefully, I'm able to pump out more chapters and put this under the category of general fiction.

If you want, you can save this book under your archived until a further update is available(to which there will be a notification).

If you liked the book, vote, and comment, if there's anything I can improve on, then feel free to message me about that or leave a comment. This will really help me build the book and make it more enjoyable.

If you've read up to now, thanks for sticking by and reading the authors note, even if it's a hassle. It means a lot.

(I wanted to sign off with, xoxo-Gossip Girl, but that's probably not reasonable)
