XOXO

The chilled air of the park felt lonely. It was windy, and there was a disappearing layer of snow all over the place.

A lonely figure stood in front of a bench. Deep contemplation of whether to sit down or to continue walking around was disallowing the person to move an inch.

Hands in the pockets of a thick faux fur coat, the young woman seemed frozen in place. As if a scene out of a painting, she stared at the bench absent-mindedly. Her inner conflict of sitting or not had long transformed into an existential crisis in her own frabricated world.

Inside her chest, the thumping of her heart beating loudly resonated inside her head.

It hurt. The icy breath that escaped her mouth urged her to pull her scarf up. She felt her eyes sting; artificial bright blue eyes which matched the cold scenery.

The very same eyes which froze a passer-by in place, a few metres from the lavishly dressed woman. She looked like a doll with her fluffy blond hair, cherry red lips and rosy cheeks, but above all, the captivating harmony of her beautiful face.

As the two women's eyes met, the blue-eyed beauty blinked. In reflex, the stranger blinked as well.

"What?" The blonde woman asked. Her voice was small and shy, but very high-pitched and a little nasal. Her lips seemed to naturally form a pout.

The other young woman was jolted out of her daze. She shook her head, took her hands out of the pockets of her fluffy black down jacket, and bowed.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to stare." She apologised. She felt flustered, for a reason that elucidated her.

It was just a person afterall, no matter the ethereal appearance.

It was the blonde woman's turn to take notice of the stranger in front of her. She scrutinised her from head to toe.

A stylish woman. That was her first impression. Discreetly stylish. Kind of sober.

Brown hair, sharp eyes, and an attractive face. There was not much which caught her attention. The brunette seemed like an ordinary, everyday woman. She was the kind one could see on the streets each day while crossing the road, at every visit to the esthetician, an appearance one could see in any restaurant.

Yet there was something about that lady which was apparent, and that was how her looks were above average.

Just like me, the blondie thought.

She was beautiful enough for people to turn their heads when they passed by her, enough to attract attention.

"Hey," The blonde woman spoke as she took a hesitant step in the direction of the only person with her, "What's your name?"

The brunette's eyes lit up in surprise. She uttered confusedly, "Huh? Me? Um... Somin."

"Just Somin?"

"Why do you look surprised?" Somin chuckled awkwardly.

"Well then, I'm Hyuna."

A charming grin formed across her face, which sent needles through Somin's heart. Her smile reminded her of someone, and that was no good thing because the sole reason she had ended up in a cold, deserted park was due to that person.

"Just Hyuna?" Somin asked in the same fashion the other woman had demanded.

The angelic woman laughed. She nodded.

"Wanna sit down and have a warm drink or something?" Hyuna suggested.

Somin sighed. She walked to the bench and took a closer look at her new acquaintance.
