"They said to tell ye that they had decided to go out tonight," he informs Elizabeth and the twins, "wanted to give the new family head and her heirs time to settle in without so many extra faces in one day...."
Mary turns a heated look at O'Seamus, and he tries to backtrack, "mostly they been wanting a night out for a while now and took the first change they got," he mutters as he slides into the chair right next to Menmen. Mary shakes her head in displeasure.
"Alright, I'll not be spoiling a night out to themselves." She looks back up the stairs. "Since Macy is not coming down to eat I'll go have dinner brought...."
"Not yet ye slow witted dolt!" A shrill voice rings out as a young, attractive blond with emerald green eyes, stomps through the left entrance. "Where is yer head and yer manners, ye lowly half-witted servant? Ye are only to serve the meal when the Family Head is seated and has dismissed ye to do so," the blond says to Mary with a snarl of distain on her face, "and encase ye hadn't noticed I have yet to take my seat or dismiss ye."
Her gaze takes in the people around the table, stopping to sending O'Seamus a disgusted look. "Ye too O'Seamus, worthless cur."
O'Seamus snarls low in his throat, but it's cut off with a grunt when Menmen elbows him in his side as the girl saunters up to the throne like chair Elizabeth is sitting in.
Her heated look of distain only intensifies as she gives Elizabeth an dismissive once over, clearly saying that she found her unworthy. "HA, ye must be that daft American that claims to be McClain," she snarls at Elizabeth. "Get up and go to the end of the table. That chair is mine as is my right as the Family Head."
Elizabeth gives the girl the same dismissive once over before turning to Mary.
"I take it no one has informed this young woman that Uncle Neal named me as the Family Head in his will?" Mary turns her head away to keep the girl from see the slight smirk on her face as the color drains out of the young woman's face.
"He....NO! He wouldn't dare!" She shrieks as she looks at Elizabeth in disbelieve. "Grandda wouldn't do that to me! No, not to his only surviving heir, his own granddaughter!" She glances over to Mary and O'Seamus, her eyes harden as she sees the truth in their eyes. "I don't believe this. Why would he hand over the family to some Yank Americans who have all but lost their understanding for their own heritage."
Elizabeth takes a deep breath to calm herself while sending the twin warning glare. Menmen and Kimiko sat back in their chairs, arms crossed, seeing how the scene would play out.
"First off, Macy right? Uncle Neal's granddaughter?" Elizabeth inquires, and when Mary confirms with a single nod, she continues. "We have not lost any of our heritage. My mother taught me and my girls our heritage before her passing. What she didn't have time to teach my girls I taught them." Elizabeth straightened her shoulders and sat taller in the chair. "Secondly Macy, it was my mother who was to inherit the leadership of this family, but she declined. Your Grandda, my Uncle decided that since it was my mother's right of birth to be Family Head, then it was also mine." Elizabeth made her voice cold as ice as she talks to Macy.
A cold breeze that quickly evolves the Gathering hall has Menmen and Kimiko snapping their attention over to Macy as they feel a strong energy build up around her. Their own energy springs forward in self-defense, making their eyes darken.
Elizabeth places a hand on each of her daughter's to calm them as she stares Macy down. They hold an unnerving level of hatred, but underneath the hatred is a strong sorrow slowly eating away at the girl. O' Seamus lets out a low warning growl when the tension continues to grow.
"Think carefully before ye act Macy McClain. Ye Grandda isn't the Family Head anymore." The energy that was building around Macy falls away as her face crumbles. Tears flow from her eyes as she fleas back up the stairs, the slamming of a door up on the top floor echoes down to the gathering hall. Mary coughs to draw the attention back to her.
