When Markus arrived to the hospital he rushed into Jani's hospital room. When he saw her up and holding their child in her arms he let out a sigh of relief and a big smile came upon his face.
"Baby" he said as he rushed to her and gave her the biggest hug and the longest kiss ever
"I missed you" he said as he let out a breath "so much"
"I missed you too" she smiled
Seeing her smile warmed his heart he was so happy that she was awake. He missed her so much he really didn't know what he would do
without her.
"I love you so much" Markus said
"I love you too" she said kissing his lips
Jani was happy to be awake and alive from those shots to the chest. She really thought that she was going to die alone in the middle of the street. She really thought that she wasn't going to see her baby for the last time and that brought tears to her eyes.
"Bae what's wrong?" Markus asked "Why are you crying?"
"Nothing, I just really thought that was gonna die and I wouldn't get to see you guys again. I thought I was going to die alone. I don't wanna die alone" she cried
"You won't die alone" Markus said trying to comfort her but she wasn't having it because he didn't know that.
No one does.....
"But you don't know that though, I probably deserve to die alone, after all of the things i've done" she cried
Now that Jani really got a taste of what death felt like she never wanted to experience it again. She was over the whole killing thing now she just wanted to be with her man, her baby and her family.
"No you don't. Don't say things like that" Chantal said
Jani didn't say anything because she knew that she deserved it. And Chantal is only saying that because her family doesn't know what she really does for a living.
"I'm ready to go home" she said quietly staring past everyone
"I don't know if you can bae" he said
"I don't care, I just want to leave"
"Let me ask the nurse" he said pressing the emergency button on the side of the bed.
"How can I help you?" the nurse asked
"Can she leave she doesn't want to stay here anymore" Markus asked
"Yes she is welcome to leave when ever" the nurse said
"Okay well lets go" Jani said giving Ki'niah to Chantal and sitting up
She winced a little and put on the clothes Chantal brought for her. When she finished signing the discharge papers she got in the car with Markus and the baby then they all drove home.

On the way home Jani couldn't help but think about how when she woke up Markus wasn't the first face she saw. He was actually the last. She couldn't help but wonder what he was doing and why wasn't he with their baby. She wanted to know badly so she asked
"Where were you?"
"What do you mean?" he asked holding her hand
"You heard me, where were you when I woke up. I expected to see you first of all people" Jani said
"I know and im sorry for that" he said
"What were you doing" she asked out of curiosity she really wondered what was more important than her waking up.
"I was following a lead" he said
"What lead?" she asked as she started getting annoyed
"I'm trying to find the nigga who almost killed you" he said in a straight tone also getting annoyed because of her questions
He wanted to have an intimate moment with his fiance and child but he felt like she was already beginning to trip.
Jani knew she was too. She didn't want to argue with him because she wanted the same thing but she felt like what he is doing, following this lead is a waste of time and it would also get him hurt.
"Well stop following leads and stop tryna avenge my ALMOST death. That's in the past, I just want to move past it. I was so serious about what I said in that hospital. Even though no one knew what I was talking about you did. I feel like this killing shit is dead and all those people I killed with no mercy not caring about their family or who they would be leaving behind was wrong. I can't change things I did but I can stop and so can you because that girl karma is a bitch and she came for my ass im just lucky I didn't die. So please stop, I love you and if something were to happen to you I don't know what i'd do." She said as a tear slid down her face
"I can't baby and you know that, he almost took away the most important thing in my life" he said parking the car in the drive way and turning towards her
"I don't care, keyword 'almost' so stop looking for revenge and just stay with your daughter and your wife to be" she said kissing him
"Promise me" she said looking him in his eyes
He turned his head and she grabbed his face and turned it back toward her.
"I said promise me"
"Okay, I promise" he said then gave her passionate kiss
Jani believed the words her fiance told her little did she know he was lying straight to her face.
