Chapter 5

I'm at the library working on review sheets with Zach, when I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I check to see who it is and it's an unknown number.

Me: Hey, I don't know who this is so... who is this?

A couple minutes later the person wrote back with a text that read, "Oh, sorry. It's me, Ryan."

I feel so stupid forgetting that I had given him my number a couple days ago.

Me: Omg! Hey, I forgot you had my number I guess I never got the chance to put yours into my phone. Lol

Ryan: Haha. No problem. I was thinking, maybe I could meet you at the ice cream shop a couple blocks away from the library and buy you an "Once-again-I'm-sorry-that-I-hurt-you" cone?

I blush at the text and Zach asks who it is so I explain everything that happened with Ryan and I up to this point.

"Go meet up with Ryan. I have to head home anyway. My cousins are coming over." Zach says while he gathers his things. He says goodbye, waves, and leaves to head home.

Me: Sounds awesome. Meet you there in 5?

Ryan: Amazing! You can get all the sprinkles you want. See you in a few.

I walk the few block over to the ice cream shop, this is my first time going there, and see Ryan sitting at one of the tables. He catches sight of me and walks over to me and gives me a hug. And it was a pretty amazing hug, if I do say so myself. We head inside and I start to look at all of the flavors and decide to get mint chocolate chip with rainbow sprinkles. Ryan orders himself some ice cream as well and then pays for everything. We grab a seat at a bench outside the store and just start talking.

"So", Ryan says, "What have you been up to lately?"

"Nothing really besides studying and practice. Getting ready for finals and tournaments and stuff."

We finish our ice cream, which was REALLY good, and our conversation. I learn that Ryan is going to Europe for some of the summer with his family, but other than that not much else.

"Before I leave for Europe later this summer, we should definitely hang out again." Ryan suggests.

I nod and smile at the idea. I grab my bag and thank Ryan again. He offers to give me a ride home, but I wanted to walk home. I needed a little me time. I start to think about Ryan and how his smile was great and his eyes were so bright. Then my mind started to wonder, I wonder what Austin's smile is like? What color eyes does he have? Is he taller than Alex? Is he as good at basketball as the guys claim he is?

My thoughts about Austin continued for the rest of the night. Thank goodness I am going to meet this kid as soon as finals are done. I can't let an unknown person control my thoughts anymore, it's driving me crazy.

My curiosity was starting to get the best of me and I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing...
