If Only ⇢ Kai x Ein

⇢ Chapter 10

"Hey, are you okay?" Ein asked and put his hand on my shoulder that was shaking slightly.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine, just a bit shaken up is all, I'll concentrate more." I replied as the light turned green again, and we drove off, closer to our destination.

I'd like to say that I focused on the road the whole way, but really I was more focused on the soft hand that Ein left on my shoulder, rubbing it in a soothing way that calmed me down almost instantly, the only emotion left inside of me being butterflies.

"Nya~! We're finally here!" Michi shrieked out as we parked in a busy parking lot and packed out of the large vehicle.

"I'm glad we didn't die back there" Ryder teased and linked hands with Jax, who was last to climb out of the car.

I just glared at him and reverted back to the situation. I can't believe it was all because I was too busy starring at Ein. His grey eyes just seemed to say a lot of things to me, things that I couldn't work out.

However, I shrugged it all off and decided not to think of it again, we do have to work out on how to sneak onto this plane afterall.

"Soo.. Michi? What do we do now?" I asked, breaking the tension in the air.

"Follow Michi! She'll lead us to the back of the plane, where all the big luggage gets placed" Michi exclaimed and skipped off to the airport doors.

Before following her, I noticed that Ein was looking down at his feet, helplessly starring daggers into the ground.

"Ein? Are you coming?" I asked, causing him to look up at me with big eyes.

"O-Oh! Yeah, sorry" He apologised and began walking with me, shoulder to shoulder.

"Hey, are you sure you want to do this? We can always go back, I really don't mind" I finally decided to say. I did mean it though, if he was having second thoughts about this, then it's completely okay. This trip was just for him afterall. Maybe along the way he decided that it's too dangerous, which is still the top concern for me.

"N-No, I'm really fine with this, I really just want my werewolf identity back." He admitted and looked at me with a wide, reassuring smile.

Something about his smile caused me to smile back, not even realising I was doing so.

"Hurry up you two! We need to get back there before the workers do!" Michi suddenly shouted back at us, with Jax and Ryder also urging for us to hurry up.

We laughed it off and began jogging over towards the impatient trio, as we all set off deeper into the fairly crowded airport.

Seeing all these people, and such modern day items made me feel very nostalgic towards the world, almost as if I missed it.

Sure, it was my decision to isolate myself in the forest for so many years, but it was just fascinating to see all these busy business men, families, and children again. It's something I never would have thought I'd miss seeing. Even just the smell and look of all the food around the airport, it made me almost feel disappointed that all I was living on was meat and fruit that grew on the many trees every spring.
