Cities always had a spot in my heart. The street lights and the life seems to be careless and free. That was what I love about it.
Moving to the city from the suburb wasn't a hard transaction. Back home everyone were more calm and try their best to enjoy every moment. Here, everyone in a hurry to do something.
But I love the rush.
My teen years was over.
It's time for me to prove everyone that I wasn't a disappointment. I was out here to do what I love and enjoy my time on this earth.
My choices in the past weren't approved by anyone. I was always seen as the odd one out. An apple that flew far away from the tree. Everyone thought I was going down the dark path. It impressed them that I didn't get knocked up by the age of 16 or become a drug dealer or some shit.
I knew my new job wouldn't make their opinion on me any better. But I promised me to take care of myself without anyone help.
I breathed in the night air, getting ready for this "interview". The sky was almost black with only lights from buildings leading the way.
Walking into the club in my red long sleeves skin tight dress, ready for my interview. My short black hair sat just above my shoulder.
The lights was shinning bright towards the stage with girls going up and down the pole. In front of me was the bar area with half naked girls pouring drinks for these men. Everyone watching was shouting in excitement. Some men were zooming on every part of the girls. But you could see it in the girls eyes, that they rather be doing something with their life than dancing on the stage half naked. Cash was flying in the air. It wasn't the best scene but the fast cash will provide me with enough to live.
"Hi, ummm I'm here for an interview." I greeted one of the girls at the bar with a big smile.
She looked at me up and down. "Jack! Here's a newbie!" She yelled out to a blonde haired man on a large couch infront of the stage. His head turned to look at me.
"She's pretty." He stated as he walked up to me. "I'm Jack. What's your name pretty?" He grinned at me, holding out his hand for me to shake.
He was a pretty boy himself. His light blonde curls was slick back. He was tall and build like a soldier. Dressed in a unbuttoned shirt and black jeans. His teeth were perfectly straight.
"Penny." I shook his hand.
"Well, Penny. Consider yourself hired." His charming face gave me a wicked smile.
I pulled my hand back and frown. "So you not even not going to test me?" I was confused at that moment. I wasn't new in this lifestyle. I spent the summer before year 12th dancing at a club to save up enough money so I could move out when I graduate.
"No, the big boss would like you. I can feel it." He pointed at his head "Now today is a lil too late to start so, tomorrow be here 8 pm." Of course, they had to make the boss happy.
"Do I have to blow someone off or its just lap dances only?" I questioned him.
"No girlie, this is complete legal." He threw his arms up. "You just gotta dance, maybe serve a few drinks and cash would go straight into your pocket."
"Sure its legal." I looked down to lines of cocaine on the bar. "Alright I'll be here tomorrow then." I gave him a smile and headed towards the door.
"She looks so naive, Jack. Are you sure boss gonna like it?" I heard the girl said to Jack.
"Of course he would he got nice tits and she's foreign it would spice it up for the pathetic blonde taste he has." Jack waved her off.
I just ignored the comment.
Well that was an easy one I thought to myself as I head to my car. My new apartment wasn't far from the club, it was located in city centre area.
Tomorrow was also my first day of university.
I threw myself on to my bed as I dial for my best friend. Samantha. She was the only one who knew exactly what I was going to be with my life while my family think I would be getting my degrees. I mean I will be attending university and getting a degrees everyone wanted to see.
But on the side was the fun part. It was the first time I could do whatever I want, whenever I want to. I was finally free.
"How was your day you hoe?" Sam asked.
"I'm now a stripper." I laughed.
"Of course you are. Just hope no one runs into you while you suck someone off in the club, P."
"Sam, I will be right. And its not likely of my old people to go to a strip club in the city anyways." I rolled my eyes.
"Is there a shit ton of drugs there?" She questioned.
"Duh, its a fucking stripclub."
She laughed. "Boo, you know what you have to do just snuck them out and deal it on the street or somethin."
"I'm not going but to the old ways, sam. We had enough of that, plus we are no longer stupid highschool kids. All I'm going to be doing is dance and serving drinks."
"Yeh yeh, whatever just don't fall for any fuckers that throws money at ya. Nighty night." With that she hung up.
I went out to the balcony of my room. Lighting up the only thing that been there for me all these years. Inhaling the black smoke into my lungs. It was a bad habit. But once you got into it, it was hard to stop.
Starring into the streetlights of the city, wondering why am I addicted to the darkness and everything I knew that are dangerous and harmful. I couldn't get enough of it. I always run to anything that would break every single bits of me.
I'm just a stupid 19 year old girl who never learn from my old mistakes. Everyone thought it was a phrase of me wanting to be a badass bitch. But I never seems to grow out of it. I was stuck until I would find a new addiction that would keep me away from the darkness.

Beep beep beep beep beeeeep
I opened my eyes in panic. Looking at my phone for the time as I turned of my alarm. Fuckkkkkk its 11:15. I got up in a hurry. My first class starting in 30 minutes. I rushed into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. Throwing on an oversize hoodie and black leggings. I grabbed my bag and ran out of my apartment.
Luckily found a pair of slides to wear in the car. The traffic was terrible but then what was I expecting.
I managed to get to the campus 15 minutes before my class starts. I walked to the cafe right outside of the building to grab something for my starving stomach.
Running out of the cafe with a big cup of coffee in hand and a muffin in the other. I was kinda enjoying the day until...
Crash.
A man walked into me and made me spill my coffee all over myself. He was towering over me as he walked pass, having no clue to walk he just did to me. "Hey, asshole!" I yelled at him.
He snapped his head back in annoyance. "Sorry, what the fuck you want?"
"You spilled the damn coffee on me!"
"Well if I spilled it, why are you holding the cup?"
Wow jerk. "Wow, a simply apology would be great."
"Whatever." He turned around and continue to walk away.
I looked down at my clothes, my hoodie was covered in my vanila latte. I decided to take it of and threw it at the guys head.
Thanks fuck I had a tee on underneath. "You little bitch!" I could him yelling after me but I was running as fast as I could to class.
"Suck shit, asshole!" I yelled back.
