Chapter 2: Order Taking and Coffee Making- My mom ran into my room shoved the blinds open and yanked my blankets off. I groaned,

"Mommmmmmm, it's Saturday."

She grabbed my legs and tried dragging me out of bed,

"I know! And you're not even dressed!"

I finally sat up and got out of bed myself. I mumbled,

"Um dressed for what?"

My mom pulled out jeans and a blue shirt from my closet,

"Work, people want their morning coffee."

I laughed,

"I'm not hired yet."

She walked over to the door,

"Well you sure won't be if you're late! Now get dressed."

I called Wright as I put on my clothes. It went straight to voicemail. I called his cell twice and his house phone which fortunately his mom answered,

"Hello?"

I answered,

"Hey this is Keith..."

She shouted through the phone,

"Wright!!! Keith called."

I winced and pulled the phone away from my ear. Ten whole freaking minutes later he picked up the phone,

"Hey, dude."

I replied,

"Hey, did you forget about something?"

He cursed in the background,

"Is it your birthday already? I swear it was last week..."

I groaned in frustration,

"No, it not my birthday. We have work today."

The phone made noises as I imagined Wright slamming the phone down and rushing to eat and get dressed. Then picking up the phone again,

"Oops, I forgot. Bye I'll see you there."

I mumbled,

"Bye...idiot."

He hung up.

I saw Wright's car parked outside of Starbucks as I walked toward work. The first thing... scratch that. The first person I saw as I walked in was October. She smiled and greeted me,

"Goooooodmoring."

I slid behind the counter,

"Hey, what's up?"

She continued preparing the customer's order,

"Oh, you know. Order takin and coffee makin."

She called out the customers name and sat the order on the counter,

"By the way the others are in the back."

I headed to where she had pointed,

"Thanks."

Wrights, the old man who offered me the job and the girl who handed me the washcloth all sat in the back room. I sat down at the tiny table in the room crammed with boxes. The old man introduced himself,

"I'm glad you all came. My name is George."

The girl grinned in a flirty way at me,

"My name is Courtney."

Courtney wore a really short slutty skirt and a low short shirt showing off her breasts. Wright winked at her and she motioned him to come closer. She placed a wrinkly paper with her number written in bright sparkly purple pen. Wright shoved the paper in his pocket and introduced himself,

"My name is Wright."

Everyone was staring my way. I awkwardly sat there. Did I have something on my face? Then I realized it was my turn to introduce myself. I blushed a little. Well, that's embarrassing,

"I'm Keith."

I wish I could say I had a amazing first day of work but sadly I can't. After a few minutes of working Wright and I had managed to spill coffee everywhere including Courtney who was infuriated, burn every treat we tried to make and turn the shop upside down. If it wasn't for October and Courtney we would have had a line full of angry customers wanting their coffee. These customers are defiantly not morning people.

I'm starting to think George was wrong about us inviting customers. I mean who can blame me? They ran out that door like scooby doo and shaggy!!!
