Love Letter. Goodbye Letter

Chapter 1: Crush

 

This was the day! This is the day, I am finally going to confess my love for Kai ever since freshman year. I was in junior year of high school. We had a few more months of school left until senior year, but today I feel very confident.

I got out my binder and took out the prettiest paper I had and started writing.

 

Dear Kai,

You may not know me, but I know you. We are in the same class for History, English,and Math.

I'm writing this letter to you because I have developed some feeling throughout freshmen year for you.

You are really smart and I  love how your hair flys up whenever your running. I have a list of features I want for my ideal man and you fit all those traits.

So please accept me as one of your friends.

I walked up to Kai and he looked at me with curiousity. I stared at him,but he ignored me and kept on talking to Jessica(his sister). I bowed my head slightly and handed him my letter. He looked at it and then at me. He didn't do anything for the last 60 seconds until Jessica took it from my hand.

'oh no, Jessica -shi has it' I thought.

This was so embarrassing, Jessica was the most popular girl in school and now, she will know that I have a crush on her brother.

She grabbed it from my hand. I only talked to her once and she was super nice. She wasn't those type of kids who knew they were popular and thought lowly of everyone.

Jessica tried opening it up, but Kai took it and opened it.

He's reading it.

He looked up at me and crumbled my letter on the ground and threw it at my face.

" I really... really, hate these kinds of things" and He walked away.

Jessica was shocked and ran to me. " Hey, are you okay? Im sorry about his behavior"

I put a fake smile. " no, it's totally fine" and I walked away forgetting my crumbled letter. I walked away. I looked back.

Jessica found my letter on the ground. She picked it up, uncrumbled the paper and read it.

She knows now.

I was in the school's garden weeping. I was calling myself stupid and retarded. I can't believe I was humiliated.

Suddenly, there was a phone call from Seoul's hospital.

I wiped my tears and cleared my throat.

" hel-?" I was interrupted

" Ms. Hwang, your parents are in critical state. They were in a big car accident. Please come quick! There running out of breath!"

"What?" I said.

"Quick!" The nurse said.

I got up and ran to the hospital.

When I got there, I searched for my parents. There was a big crowd in front of the hospital.

"Unnie! Quick!" My sister, Sulli was calling me.

I ran to him . Sulli was crying.. I wiped her tears. " it's okay. It's going to be alright".

I looked around and saw a guy. It was Kai. We caught each other's eyes, but I was pulled by Sulli.

We ran to the emergency room. The nurses stopped us and asked who we were. We told them and they told us that the surgery was still on. We looked through the little room that led to the room where the surgery was going on. We saw our parents and my tears were rolling down like Niagea falls. Our parents were unconscious.

After a few hours later, the doctor came out. He looked a bit down

" Doctor, what happened? Did the surgery go well?" I asked with tears running down.

Sulli was right behind me.

The Doctors took of his glasses and his gloves. " I'm sorry, but the surgery didn't go well. They passed away in the middle of the surgery" the doctor said.

Sulli tugged on my arm. " Unni. That man is lying right? Eomma and Apa didn't leave us. I know for sure because remember they promised.. They promised they will never leave us right. Unni.." Sulli was crying.

My heart sunk.

My legs grew weak

I plopped down on the floor along with Sulli.

She was in my arms.

I was so shocked, I couldn't manage to get the tears out.
