It was our last day in Munich before we were to continue on with our travels. So in the morning we decided to stroll through the English Gardens before our departure.

The walk was a little further from our hotel than expected, although we didn't mind. We enjoyed our stroll under the warmth of the sun that beautifully intertwined with the crisp morning air. During our travels, Lisa and I had learnt the beauty of walking in silence, where we both could recognise the beauty in the diverse architecture and foreign ideas in our own way. And we had also very much well learnt not to walk on the bike paths. Ever.

The incredible vastness of the green landscape caught us in awe. The park was filled with schoolchildren on excursions, dog walkers, business people heading to work, and bike riders had all leisurely passed us by as we walked along the paths and crossed over the quaint little bridges. Birds sang, complementary to one another as a melody that accompanied the sound of a passing stream found at the front of the park. We were left wondrous to how such a concrete jungle of a city could include such a leafy paradise in the centre of the chaos of tourism.

As we further explored we spoke about anything that came to mind, but we mostly passed the time by walking in silence and counting how many sausage dogs we could find. Up ahead in the distance we found a white gazebo, independently standing on top of a hill. It was our immediate decision that we needed to be up there to overlook all this glory; so we did. We climbed up the broken stairs that winded around and lead up to the top.

There was only one other person in the gazebo; a man tuning his guitar in hand. Without wanting to disturb him we sat on the steps just below and got lost in thought.

As we remained, just sitting in silence, listening to the sounds of nature and feeling the warmth of the sun made my heart skip just a little bit faster. In a few moments, the man who we had joined up in that gazebo began to sing Let Her Go by Passenger. And it was in that moment where I took a breath and closed my eyes. A smile couldn't help but escape my lips. Everything felt perfect.
