On a Wednesday night, I sat in front of the piano in my living room alone. My parents were on a date night, and Adrien said he would stop by and visit.
I placed my hands over the keyboard and started to play my favorite song when there was a quiet tap on the window. Adrien was there once again, standing on the ground this time.
I let him in and he stepped into the room.
"A piano?" He asked, grinning. "Mind if I give you a lesson, milady?"
"Yes," I laughed, but let him steer me over to the piano bench anyways. He sat down next to me and placed his hands over mine on the piano. My cheeks turned bright pink.
We played a couple of duets before he completely took over the piano, nearly pushing me to the ground. I rolled my eyes and picked up a pillow on the couch.
I threw it at him, hitting the back of his head. He turned around slowly.
"Did you just-"
"Yes."
"You're so on."
We pelted each other with pillows for the next twenty minutes until we got tired and flopped down on the ground, laughing.
Adrien rolled around to face me. "Every time I come over I have a great time, (Y/N). Thanks for being such a great best friend."
I smiled, but I sighed inside. Friendzoned.
"No problem, Adrien. Come over anytime," I said. "I had fun too."
"Well, there's this one girl that I really like. I really hope that she likes me but I don't think she does. I think she only thinks of me as a friend. What should I do?"
I was a little hurt by his words. Okay, really hurt. From what I could tell, he wasn't talking about me.
"Well, you should do a grand gesture for her then ask her out," I suggested, trying to hold back my tears. "Trust her with everything and treat her right."
Adrien nodded. "Okay. Thanks, (Y/N)." He checked his watch. "I should probably go. Bye." Without another word, he leapt through the window.
I sat there on the ground, motionless. Adrien loved someone else.
