Before kingdoms rose from stone...
Before blood stained the earth...
Before fate bound wolves to the moon itself...

There was Selene.

Selene, Goddess of the Moon and keeper of the night sky, rode across the heavens each evening upon a glowing silver chariot forged from celestial light. Four magnificent white horses carried her through the darkness — immortal creatures known as the Stars of Orion, their manes shimmering like falling stardust as they galloped across wisps of cloud and moonlight.

Where Selene travelled, darkness trembled before her.

The moon glowed brighter beneath her touch.

The stars themselves bent toward her like worshippers.

And on the night everything began, the heavens burned silver.

It was the night of the Wolf Moon.

The largest moon of the winter sky hung low above the earth, enormous and luminous, bathing the world beneath it in pale light. Selene stood tall within her chariot, her silver gown flowing like liquid moonlight around her feet as cold wind swept through her dark curls.

Below her, the world was still young.

Untouched.

Wild.

Beautiful.

Her immortal horses thundered across the heavens while constellations glittered behind them. Selene watched silently for a moment before lifting one elegant hand toward the stars.

"Come," she called softly.

Her voice echoed across the skies like music.

Three figures appeared within moments.

Her sisters.

Esther arrived first, radiant and golden, warmth and wisdom glowing within her eyes. Beside her appeared Danica, fierce and graceful, dressed in deep midnight blue with silver markings painted across her skin like constellations. Finally came Hecate, cloaked in shadows and ancient magic, her presence carrying the scent of earth, smoke and prophecy itself.

"The Wolf Moon rises," Esther whispered in awe.

Selene smiled faintly.

"Yes."

Danica stepped toward the edge of the chariot, staring down upon the earth below. "So this is the night?"

Selene's silver eyes glowed softly.

"This is the night I create my bloodline."

Silence fell.

Even the stars themselves seemed to still.

Far below, deep within the forests of the mortal world, a kingdom was waiting to be born.

It was written long ago that the first descendants of the Moon Goddess arrived when the land was still untouched by civilisation.
