Chapter 6

After getting back to the apartments from the studio. Meryl and I both walked into my apartment. She turned on her laptop, while I made some coffee for us. I didn't expect her to come over again, so I was pleasantly surprised when she asked me if she could come over. Of course I said yes, I mean what else would I have said!!!!! 

So anyway, while I made us some Italian coffee, she logged into her youtube. After a few seconds, she said, "Um, Charlie. You might wanna see this." So I walked over to where she flopped on my couch and asked, "What is it, Mer?"

".....Just look at this." she turned her computer around and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The interview was only 20 minutes ago!!!!!! My... lets say.... Donut Disaster..... had more views than that dog that flushed the toliet! But, when I looked at the comments, I was pleasantly surprised! As I scrolled through the list, I read things like, "Good old Charlie" and "luv that sense of humor!"

We sipped our coffee and watched the news for awhile. Then I heard the news announcer say, "Coming up after this break we have the playback of Charlie White and Meryl Davis's interview on the Today Show....As well as a special bonus clip." Meryl said, "This out to be good!" with a playful smile and her perfect little laugh. I caught myself staring into her deep eyes and quickly darted my eyes away, praying that she didn't see me.

When the show came back from break, they immediately started the replay of this morning's interview.....

The camera was zoomed in on the host's face as she said, "Here today with us we have gold medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White." Then you see her look over in the direction where, I guess, Meryl was sitting. Then she looked back over to the camera and said, "Well it appears that Charlie White is MIA at the moment, but he is expected to be here for at least some portion of the interview. But how about we take advantage of this opportunity to ask Meryl some questions."

At this time, the camera panned over to gorgeous Meryl sitting on the couch with her hair falling perfectly over her shoulders and her dress falling perfectly over her body. "So Meryl, how do like working with Charlie? I mean is it awkward dancing such romantic dances with a man that isn't your boyfriend?"

"I really enjoy working with Charlie. He is so fun loving and funny. And no, it's not awkward at all. We both handle it in a way that is sort of hard to explain."

Just as the announcer was about to ask her next question, you here an awkward slam off stages and you see the host and Meryl both turn their heads toward the stage door. The camera panned over toward me and you see me running onto the stage. Oh god! Did I really look that bad?

I couldn't stand it anymore. By this time, Meryl was rolling around on my couch in laughter. I said, "Meryl look over there!" For a brief second, she turned her head. I took advantage of this time. I jumped up, ran over the tv and tried to unplug it. When Meryl turned back around, she caught me. I would have been back to the seat on the couch, blur my foot got caught in the wires. I know crazy right!

"Charlie!" Meryl whined, "what are you doing?"

"Nuts. I'm caught!" I laughed, she laughed. I haven't had this much fun with Meryl in a long time! I have a feeling that we are closer than ever, and I am really happy about that, but I just wish that she looked at me with more romantic passion. But I know that this will never happen, so I should stop thinking about a relationship, but I can never get her out of my mind.
