In this world full of stories,
A one like no other.
Back from the 15th century.
A tale of love and slaughter.

A fable of war and pride.
Come let me take you
A few pages back in life.

In the islands lived a princess,
Elegant, with a strong mind.
Skilled in art and war
She was one of a kind.

Stories about her beauty,
spread across the world
They said her eyes were like stars
Her skin golden, and hair curled.

The king soon decided,
that she was now of age.
'Go find her a prince', he said
A smart swordsman,
Who earned enough wage.

The princess opposed,
She said to the king,
'Father i will marry,
But the one who defeats
An appointed warrior,
Only he can sweep me of my feet.'

Thousands came
To face this challenge,
No one could beat the masked man.
But then came one
From the royal lands.

He lived across the sea
Miles away,
His wars written in history
His valour and pride
Bigger than his empathy,

He fought his opponent
Until they faced defeat.
'Who are you?', he said to the man
'In a veil with such pretty eyes...
Reveal yourself!', he shouted
'I doubt there is some lies.'

The man put his veil and turban down to show
It was no one else,
But the princess who'd glow.
Stunned he looked,
and took a bow.

The princess as promised,
was married to the king.
A kind and handsome man,
Nobody could destroy him.

He took her to his castle,
She was more than obliged.
She was happy and celebrating,
Dancing and singing,
Expressing her pride.

The king then objected,
'The women in our castle dont dance for others!'
'I didn't do this for me,' she said
'With them i dwell,
I did for our people.
They're mine as well!

I want to be ,a part with them,
Nobody is my owner.
Rejoice in their happiness,
And die if i must for their honor.'

The king was happy,
And kept her upmost.
Celebration and love,
Gloom was the ghost.

And then one day...
He came across a man,
Who did bad deeds.
He kicked him out of the clan.

Sulking in revenge,
The man left the castle,
To meet a new friend,
The ruler of the north,
He was bad to no end.

He was brave and savage,
But a beast inside...
The traitor told him
About the beautiful queen,
And where she resides.

His lust grew,
Bigger than he could behold,
All he wanted now,
Was the queen, to hold.

He rode very soon...
South to the kingdom.
He was welcomed as a friend,
That was the tradition.

Feasts and celebrations,
The castle was in glee.
Little did they know,
The queen he wanted to flee.

Soon the mad king demanded,
He wanted to see the utmost beauty.
The queen doubted,
but lived up to her duty.

She revealed herself,
But only in a reflection.
Seeing her beauty in a mirror,
Ah ,that inception!

The mad king then
made up his mind.
He captivated the king,
And took him to his kind.

He demanded!
'Only the queen shall come,
To rescue her beloved.
Anyone else,
Shall be beheaded!'

The queen was smart,
She sent a man,
Dressed up as her,
After all the ruler was her fan.

The disguised one managed,
to rescue her king.
The mad king was now furious,
A war he declared,
Before the reality could sink.

With an army of thousands,
Horses and elephants too.
He fled to the south to the war he started,
Trumpets they blew.

With not enough men,
The war was not a walk on the cake.
But no he would fight,
Respect was at stake.

He said to the queen,
'I will fight for you!'.
The queen said, no
Tears rolled like drops of dew.

The men ran down,
With swords and shields.
To face the wrath,
of the battle field.

Meanwhile the queen,
Had another plan.
She gathered the women ,
Of her mighty clan.

'We wont let the enemy win!'
She said to the ladies,
'They may win the war,
But not our bodies!'

In vain alas,
The war was lost...
But the queen acknowledged,
How bravely the men fought.

Thousands of women,
Cladded in red.
Walked through a tunnel ,
To their death bed.

Singing songs of bravery,
For the men who fought,
They started jumping in a pire ..
Flaming bright and hot !

The queen leaded ,
As the women followed ,
Burning themselves ,
Their hearts hollowed .

The mad king reached
the castle to hear,
Shrieks and cries,
of women on fire.

Alas he won,
But for what good?
It was a loss after all,
In victory's hood!
