Blood stained the floor where my younger brother had fallen and died. I held the knife warm with fresh blood. My vision was blurred with tears of sorrow. My brother, mom, and dad were dead. Zombies. I killed them they had become a lower life form of fear. The city was filled with danger and death. The outbreak started not to long ago. One thing about zombies is when you get bit you don't just turn into one you have to get bit and showered with your blood and pain and scream your heart out while getting ripped to shreds like in your nightmares of the dead. I killed my family with a blade, not a blade you use to cut up things to eat a blade my dad got in England on a work trip. "Please!, please open the door I don't want to become one of them just yet please," a woman screamed from the other side of the door slamming her body violently on the door. I grabbed my gun from my leg and aimed it at her neck through the peeping hole on the door.
"One two three," I said as I pulled the trigger to fire the gun at her. She fell back and sprayed the door with the open vein on her neck, I recognized her she was my teacher Mrs. Gordon. I could see one of the dead outside the house a child her face was covered in blood and her left arm missing she ran fast at the corps. I held the gun up and aimed as I did my teachers and shot it. I lifted my skirt and replaced the gun into its holster I was equipped with two guns strapped to my thighs, a backpack with ammunition, and supplies, and my dad's sword that was placed on my hip in the holster attached to my skirt. My phone rang and it as Scarlet calling me.
"Hey, Eris I guess that means you are not dead yet... Wait a minute someone is at the door," Scarlet said placing the phone down with a short breath. I heard about five bangs the kind you hear when a metal baseball bat hits a wall I also heard Scarlet do her "war" scream. "Sorry I thought I got all of them I guess I didn't then obviously," she giggled.
"Hey where are you at Scarlet?," I asked with a little anger in my voice.
"I am at the school you should come over here and if you run into any trouble just call me if you can bye I Eris see you in about 20 minutes," Scarlet said to me hanging up the phone. I began to leave the house to go to the school. Running at fast speeds I came across another corpse. The dead one had a fleshy raw face that dripped with black blood we like to call it zombie oil. I withdrew my sword from the holder and swung at it once he was faster than most I had seen so of course I missed I heard its breathing behind me and I swung again. This time I hit it square in the head my sword was stuck in his head. My foot on its chest, I reached for my gun and shoot about two rounds the zombies neck some of its blood got on my face and the breast of my white uniform school shirt. Crinkling my nose I wiped it off on my shoulder.
"You son of ah," I stopped speaking as the man fell down to my feet. Sliding my blade from the fully dead freak's head I heard the small cry of a cat. I turned around to see one walking up to me not knowing if it was a zombie or not. "Sorry kitty I can't trust very many people or animals if they are zombies or not," I said with sorrow to the small cat as I pet the small cat's head. I began to run down the demolished street that was overgrown with weeds and dead people and zombies. Just another two blocks to go. I had run these roads may times in the past so I have plenty of energy to run it some more.
