Naomi woke up to darkness, the soft glow of the '8:00 PM' on the digital clock on the bedside dimly illuminating the drowsy expression on her face. Occasionally the room would light up a light blue as thunder sounded faintly in her ears. It was storming, and sound of rain pelting against the window pain was like a lullaby to her; she always loved when it rained. She looked at the two sleeping figures of Nana and Ayaka in their bed, Nana kept tossing and turning in her sleep. She might be having a nightmare.
Naomi yawned and leapt out of bed, eager to sit by the window and watch the rain. Which wasn't a very good idea considering it was a thunderstorm, but she didn't think twice. She groggily rubbed the sleep from her eyes and grabbed a snack she'd saved from earlier. Naomi grabbed a chair from the desk in their room and placed it by the window and sat down. She watched the rain intently, her bright green eyes taking in every detail. When suddenly, her eyes stopped at a girl's face staring at her through the window.
Naomi blinked, thinking it was just sleep residue creating the image. But the girl was still there, and she waved at her and smiled. This slightly creeped Naomi out as she realized the girl was actually there. Who does that? Just looks through the window and casually waves, as if she doesn't care she's disturbing anyone.
Naomi shyly waved back, and took in her features for the first time. There was no doubt she was really pretty, rosy skin and a petite face. Long, dark hair that could make the night sky envious. Her deep, indigo blue eyes outstandingly beautiful, making Naomi's emerald eyes seem like nothing compared to hers. Then, suddenly the girl gestured to the bottom of the window.
Naomi instantly opened the window with ease. "Hello." She said, eager to meet the girl. "What's your name?" The girl looked taken aback for a second, looking as if she was going to say something first, but then replied, "My name is Kimi." Her voice was almost hypnotic, delicate and angelic. She could easily be mistaken for an angel sent from Heaven.
"My name is Naomi!" Naomi said with a smile. "Kimi sounds like a nice name!" The girl smiled brightly at her, and Naomi gladly returned it. "Are you lost Kimi?"
"So do you want to come outside and play?" Kimi asked, strangely dodging the question, but the other girl dismissed it. "You might as well."
"A game?" Naomi asked, confused. "Might as well...?" She gave the girl a questioning look. The rain began making Kimi's hair soaking wet, like she just went for a swim. "Do you want to come inside?" Naomi had to ask, not wanting to be rude. But then again, she was a total stranger, even though she looked pretty harmless and even introduced herself.
"The question is," Kimi began somewhat sternly, which confused the other even more. "Do you wanna come outside." Naomi stared at her as she went on. "I mean, you might want to, considering the trouble you're about to be in." She continued.
"Trouble?" Naomi asked. "What trouble?" She was thinking about whether to just go back to bed or not, and ignore her. She was making no sense at all whatsoever.
"A couple just came in." Kimi replied. "And they're using this room for the night." She smiled as Naomi's eyes widened. She couldn't tell if she was actually happy they needed to leave and were in big trouble if they didn't, or not. But at that point she didn't care, she was always nervous about adults, and what would they do if they caught them here? Would they call the police? That thought alone sent another wave of fear over her, and engulfed her in sudden anxiety and panic.
