Tap, tap, tap...

Nana looked over the covers at the window again, where the girl was lightly tapping the edge of the scythe against the window. She continued to do it, and Nana just sat there and watched her. After what seemed like forever, Nana began to come to the conclusion that she wanted her to come to the window. So, knowing she wasn't going to stop tapping against the window pane anytime soon, she swung her legs over the side of the bed and began to slowly make her way over to the window.

"What do you want?" Nana asked, making sure not to wake the others up. The girl smiled and her features began to slowly change, making her look like a regular girl. Her skin lost its pale color and grew rosy, her eyes were no longer that icy blue and bloodshot, but a beautiful ocean blue, and her lips were tinted pink instead of white.

Nana was speechless, lost in all her beauty. Then, the girl gestured to the bottom of the window. Nana reluctantly began to pry the window open, as if she was in some kind of trance. She finally got it open, and lifted it so that it was above the girl's head, and that they were face to face. She noticed that the scythe was gone, and began to think that this girl wasn't a threat, and stared into her deep blue eyes. An eye color she's barely seen before.

"I want to play...." The girl trailed off, her voice like angelic bells ringing in the other girl's ear like a melody. She could listen to it forever. "A game." The girl finished, smiling an a thousand watts smile that looked genuine.

"What kind of game?" Nana asked, suddenly interested. The girl propped her cheek up against the palm of her hand, smiled, and knit her thin eyebrows in contemplation. "Hide and Seek." She answered.

"I like that game." Nana said eagerly. She stole a glance at the girls, Naomi still in her bed, and Ayaka in hers. They looked peaceful, and seemed to be heavy sleepers.

"I like that game too!" The girl agreed. "It'll be loads of fun!"

"Can my sister and Naomi play too?" Nana asked eagerly, bouncing on her toes. The girl's expression darkened a bit, but not too much. She frowned and said sternly, "No. You can't tell them anything. It'll be our little secret."

Nana stared back at her sister and Naomi thoughtfully. "But....why?" She asked, feeling a little disappointed. "I'm sure they'll--" She stopped mid sentence, remembering why she was scared in the first place.

"You're a monster." Nana said, her eyes widening. She stumbled backwards, mentally cursing herself for opening the window anyways. "Go away!" She yelled, all fear she felt only a few minutes before flooding back to her.

The girl's expression darkened, and if looks killed, Nana would've been brutally murdered by her menacing glare. For a moment her eyes began to turn a pale blue. But then all traces of evil left her face and her eye color went back to its normal beauty. "Come outside and play with me, Nana." She cooed in a melodious voice.

Nana furiously shook her head and quickly shut the window in her face. The girl looked infuriated, her eyes turned a pale, icy blue and bloodshot. Her skin turned into a deathly pale just like before, her hair no longer looked soft, and smooth as dark silk, but stringy and tangled like before. She glared at the trembling girl through the window, before ducking and crawling away.

Nana hurriedly crawled under the bed covers next to Ayaka, who snored softly and muttered something in her sleep. Then she slowly drifted off to sleep from the memories of her parents, and having a home again.
