'Where Are My Legs...?'

Nana sighed before she could answer. "She's gonna steal the money dummy!" She explained, exasperated as she began collecting dead leaves and spreading them all over her body. "Take somebody's wallet or something, she's really good at stealth and stuff..." She began taking more and more leaves and creating a pile to sit on top of her, hoping it would keep her warm like a blanket, which the other two thought was childish.

"You're going to snatch people's wallets?!" Naomi said incredulously, hugging herself. Why must it be so cold?

"Yep." Ayaka answered, laying back against the tree and crossing her feet at the ankles. She didn't seemed troubled at all, and she stared straight up at the sky looking like she had no care in the world. "If we steal very very often we're bound to get caught a lot. So we might as well, our victims will probably think they dropped their bundle of money."

"Victims?" Naomi silently mouthed, raising an eyebrow as the youngest scooped up more leaves while rolling her eyes. Nana finally had a large amount of leaves covering her from her chest, down to her sneakers. "I bet you guys wish you thought of this." She giggled, motioning to her bed of leaves.

"Hey, Nana?" Said Ayaka.

"What?" Nana answered, laying back and closing her eyes, thinking she'd finally be able to doze off.

"There's a bug on you." Naomi finished for her. Nana's eyes immediately shot open, "Gah!" She screamed, throwing the leaves in every which way direction as the girls giggled. She began dusting herself off and looking over her shoulder at her back, beginning to feel paranoid. "Where is it?!" She asked frantically.

"Oh, I lied." Naomi said through a fit of laughter. "There wasn't any bug on you." Her and Ayaka laughed even harder.

Nana glared at them and looked close to tears. She stomped away to the small playhouse in the playground and squeezed inside. The other two girls ignored her sulking and kept conversing. "It's easy really, stealing." Ayaka said, flicking a leaf off her lap.

"Hey...." Naomi began, getting her attention. Ayaka noticed the troubled look on her face. "What was.....it?" She asked, chewing on her nail.

"What was what?" Ayaka asked, a blank look on her face.

"That, that, thing that tried to attack us last night!" Naomi explained, turning to her. Ayaka's eyes widened with realization. She'd forgotten all about that monster that chased her and Nana last night, with the whole Naomi's parents conflict with the police. For a second she wondered what they were doing right now, if they were looking for them. Or maybe just Naomi at the time, since they didn't see them both together. But the police still would be on the lookout for her and Nana soon. But then her thoughts switched back to the monster, and how it had left them alone when dawn was painted across the sky.

How long has it been since then? She looked at her watch, and found that it was 12:30 PM, exact. It was a little after the beginning of afternoon, so about six or seven hours. Most of that time spending out in the cold, some of it inside the library.

"I don't wanna know what it was." Ayaka finally answered her after some thinking, as Naomi picked at the bark on the tree boredly. "I just wanna get away from it."

"By the way, I need to apologize for pushing Nana out the window like that..." Naomi began, nervously twirling one of her long ponytails. "It was uncalled for."

"Well, Nana did seem to be taking her time..." Ayaka pointed out, trying to make her feel better. "I think I would've pushed her out myself if she didn't hurry up soon, so apology accepted." The two girls giggled.
