Pure white.

Nothing else.

But then you suddenly sprang from this stasis.

You could feel your body resting in a bed.

Before you could even move, something came on.

You nearly jumped as the robotic voice spoke.

"Good morning."

"You have been in suspension for"

"-FIFTY-"

"days."

"In compliance with state and federal regulations, all testing candidates in the Aperture Science Extended Relaxation Center must be revived periodically for a mandatory physical and mental wellness exercise."

So I've been asleep for nearly two months?

You wanted to say that out loud, but you couldn't manage to move your lips or use your vocal cords.

The Announcer, as you were going to call him from now on, began the exercise.

"You will hear a buzzer. When you hear the buzzer, look up at the ceiling."

There was a deafening buzz noise that nearly made your ears bleed.

Casually, you stared up at the ceiling.

"Good. You will hear a buzzer. When you hear the buzzer, look down at the floor."

Again, the same noise filled the room.

You could only describe it as: "BZZZZZZ!"

You then looked at the floor.

It didn't have anything worth looking at.

You looked back towards the television hooked up to the wall.

Off. As per usual.

The Announcer kept talking.

"Good. This completes the gymnastic portion of your mandatory physical and mental wellness exercise."

"There is a framed painting on the wall. Please go stand in front of it."

You walked to the painting. It was a fairly simple picture.

But said simplicity seemed to draw you into it.

At least it was better than the crummy hotel-esque room that was called a Relaxation Chamber.

"This is art. You will hear a buzzer. When you hear the buzzer, stare at the art."

Another buzzer.

After a few seconds, the Announcer came on again.

"You should now feel mentally reinvigorated. If you suspect staring at art has not provided the required intellectual sustenance, reflect briefly on this classical music."

A beautiful symphony of music began to play.

It only lasted a few seconds, however.

That same, loud buzzer interrupted the tunes.

"Good. Now please return to your bed."

You GLaDly (see what I did there?) walked back over to your resting place.

Quickly tucking yourself back in, you closed your eyes.

Just as quickly as you had awoken, you reentered the world of white light.
