One Day Changed Everything

The IQ Test

August 5, 2134

Today was the IQ test. This would prove which initiate would be the future leader of the faction. There would be no rankings, they will tell us how we did individually.

The IQ test takes place in a simple white room. There are separate tables with chairs for each. There are wall structures around each desk surface, so no one cheats. The test is digital, on a tablet placed on each table. You fill in your information, then submit your answers after finishing. They give you your results the following day.

Claire was nervous. It was clear. I hope she does okay, she seems to get nervous when taking tests. I, however, was not nervous. You could call me a good test taker of sorts.

They opened the doors to the room, and we all went in and sat down. The test had begun.

August 6, 2134

I was waiting with Claire outside the "results room". We both waited for awhile, then they finally called my name. She gives me a nervous grin, and I go on to the room. I walk in, and they ask me to take a seat. So I do, and sit quietly. The woman in front of me seemed to pause when she pulled up my results, almost as if she was shocked. I shrugged it off, and stayed silent. She turned around to face me. She took off her glasses, and set them on the desk before us. "You have exceptional results." She said, "Do you know what the average result is?" I couldn't remember off the top of my head, so I guessed. "1500/2000?" I said. She nodded, confirming my guess. "What do you think your results were?" She asked me. I once again guessed, and said,"1800/2000?" This time she shook her head. She motioned me to the computer. She pointed at my results. Now I was shocked. I blinked a few times, thinking the number would change. But it didn't. The screen read:

1990/2000

1-9-9-0 of 2000. She explained that this was the highest score, and what it meant. It meant that, 1) I could not tell anyone and 2) That I was going to be the leader of Erudite.

I know this chapter is short, but at least I updated. :|
