 Jupiter Rising

by sloanranger

I hope you'll not mistake what I am about to say,

not sure I even want you to think of me this way.

I rarely speak of war these days, no battles do I need,

but if that's the thing that's wanted, my forces shall be freed.

Though gentlelady now and battles not my wont,

to fight or kill or maim is not something I've forgot.

As philosopher and child, of the universe

I can be ruler mild or counselor unrehearsed.

On the wheel of Astros I have been 'round and 'round,

I think that I have settled now where love is likely found.

But I am a mighty warrior from years and centuries past;

victory flows within my veins, along with powers vast.

As fire, I have Leo, to lead his royal charge

and mighty Ares will for me, fight battles long and hard.

And let me put it to you, would you fight a second sun?

My constellation's largest – the fight's already won.

Jupiter is my planet, I'm no ordinary girl

and if something seeks us harm they have...

                                                                begun a war of worlds.
