"I am the night, the dark to the light, and I'll call your name, be your guiding light. I know my way through the shadows and the doubts. I'm the shadow of the moon, a flower of the night. Together we can find our way, so what do you say? Will you help me turn the tides of fate?"

Soft humming drew Risingkit from the warm realm of sleep. However it didn't sound like Nightkit. It sounded like his mother! In a flash the kit had opened his eyes, and beside him was his brother, Pumakit.
He could feel his mothers warm body pressing against his back, since she was curled around her two kits. At times he found this habit to be annoying, but now he just was happy to be back from whatever strange place Nightkit and him had been stuck in.
Risingkit couldn't help but wonder if Nightkit had gotten out like he did, or if the grey she-kit still stuck in that strange place. He hoped not, because he certainly would have been scared if he showed up in that strange forest alone. Nightkit would certainly be terrified if she woke up there alone, and he was just....gone.
Before he could dwell on his thoughts for to long his mother began to softly hum/sing once more. It was what she sang every morning, and by now he knew it's melody by heart.

"The day is new
Night has passed
The Moon has slipped away
The Sun has risen
&
Will guide your paws
In a new day of play
So wake my kittens
It's a whole new world
Just for you to explore
Open your eyes
Jump to your paws
&
Wake my little kittens."

The kit never denied when his brother said it was cheesy. It honestly was, but still. He couldn't help but like the song. Risingkit felt his brother stirring beside him, and decided to help him wake up. So with some persistent shaking Pumakit was up and awake. "Good morning Pumakit." Risingkit said, smirking at the adorable tired face that Pumakit was making.
"Morning." The plain sandy furred tom-kit tiredly replied, yawning moments after. Risingkit had to stifle a yawn himself. Darn you contagious yawns!
The two brothers stretched, before being told to go see if anything was left on the fresh-kill pile by their mother. "What do you want to play today?" Risingkit inquired as they walked, taking the time to pad right up to where the pile should be, if it weren't empty. To help them fully wake up.
Pumakit took a moment to think as they headed back to report to their mother, Ivycloud. "How about cat and mouse? Oh wait wait! We could get Applekit, Thrushkit, and Iriskit to join us and pretend half of us are ShieldClan cats chasing CloudClan cats out of our territory!" Pumakit excitedly explained.
The light brown tabby she-cat that was Ivycloud chuckled when her kits padded into the nursery. She'd overheard Pumakit's plan, and as usual found her kits antics to be humorous. "Taking over the world again are we now?" She gently teased her plain pelted son.
He nodded proudly, "Yep! ShieldClan is the best clan! We could beat all of the other Clans single pawed!" Pumakit boasted.
For some reason Risingkit wasn't as excited as he normally would have been. And his brothers boasting...Instead of agreeing with him he just found it distasteful. "Don't underestimate the other clans or one day they'll get the upperpaw on you in battle." He warned, doing his best to keep smiling.
"Wise words, just remember them when you're all grown up." Ivycloud chuckled, gently licking the top of Risingkit's head.
His brother huffed, "Risingkit come on, you always agree with me that ShieldClan's the best! What makes today different?" Pumakit asked, somewhat annoyed.
