The lightning beam started to vanish. Arvid opened his eyes. Dalia lay down on the floor unconscious.
"Dalia!" Arvid ran to Dalia
"stay there!" grandmother shouted at Arvid
Arvid stopped his leg.
She sat beside Dalia. She put her hand on Dalia's forehead and read a spell. Some green light appeared from her hand and covered Dalia's body.
Dalia opened her eyes slowly. She tried to wake up but Her body still weak. Arvid was very grateful.
"grandmother.." Dalia spoke slowly
"you will be ok my dear. Just rest" said grandmother
Arvid was still in shock by the old lady's supernatural power. She carried Dalia into a room. Arvid walked out to the veranda of the house.
Later, the old lady came out of the room and sat beside Arvid.
"what are you?" asked Arvid
"as you see. We are the remained mages" said old lady
"I though magic is not real"
"that's because we hid ourselves. I have been living here for years. Nobody find us until today."
"so you tried to kill me just because I met her by accident? "
"She cant meet any outsider. They are threat to her"
"why? Why you locked Dalia in this interior forest on hill?" asked Arvid angrily
"because we were hunted. All of our coven was massacred. Including Dalia's parents. Only both of us survived"
"that's awful"
"I know. Dalia was too young at that time. She couldn't remember it"
" Who would do that?"
The old lady looked up for a moment.
"after the war between kingdom was ended. Their knights focused their target on mages. The Malqan king feared that our power could threaten his throne. So, he intimidate their knight to eliminate us"
"you said Malqa knight did genocide the mages? When they did this?"
