"so why are you here?"
the words ring
frozen in the air
unanswered
unheard
i look to my thighs
look to my wrists
look to the floors
anything to evade the gaze of the one trying to help
"when did this all start?"
how can i answer such obvious questions?
when my parents began to yell?
when my sister threatened to open the door and run?
when i began to drift?
more importantly, when does it end?
does the yelling stop?
does the running cease?
all we do is run
run from emotions
run from problems
run from pain
run from suffering
do we ever see the light?
Will we ever stop to think?
Or are we sprinting to our ends?
