Jeremy bit his lip and squeezed Michael's hand lightly, still feeling the small jolts of electricity running up and down his arm and hand. Each spark reached his heart, making it race quickly.

Michael took a shaky breath and looked over at Brooke, who was sitting on the other side of him. She was the only person who knew about his crush. She raised and eyebrow and looked between the two boys only to find them holding hands. She chuckled lightly and gave Michael a thumbs up. He smiled weakly and jumped slightly when the car suddenly stopped.

"Alright losers, we're here. The Bureau Of Confidante Research and Investigation." Rich snorted, pulling the door of the minivan open and hopping out.

"Chill Jenna. Be normal and call it the BCRI like the rest of us." The rest of the group filed out of the van, readjusting thair outfits and hair. Michael and Jeremy made eye contact and quickly looked away, both blushing madly.

The sun had just began to set, dusting the sky with various colors that seemed like something out of a Monet painting. Luckily, the event was outdoors with grand tables and a stage for the gifting of the charms. Michael was quick to find the table that the group was assigned. He sat and looked up at the sky, marvelling at it's candid beauty.

Jeremy sat across from Michael, and he hated the distance between the two. He looked at Michael and saw the stars in his eyes as he looked at the colors swirled in the sky. Michael had a look of amazement on his face that left Jeremy wondering how he had never noticed his best friends adorable sense of wonder. He was snapped out of his thoughts by Christine gently tapping his shoulder.

"So, what's up with you two?" She motioned at Michael and Jeremy, smiling softly with a look of knowledge in her eyes. Jeremy blushed a bright red and avoided eye contact, attempting to stutter out an excuse.

"I-I have no clue what y-you're talking about, Chrissy..." Christine laughed lightly, and held Jeremy's hand, looking at him with a slight smirk.

"Does it feel the same when you hold my hand?" Jeremy looked down at their hands, which were intertwined much like how his and Michael's were only moments ago. The only difference was the fact that he didn't feel anything. His heart didn't race, he didn't get any jolts or shocks. He looked up at her apologetically and shook his head, looking down. Chrsitine smiled warmly.

"That's okay. I can tell you like him Jer. I think we all can. Good look, dude." Jeremy bit his lip and nodded, glancing at Michael. Michael was now taking pictures of the sky, smiling widely. In his eyes, there was nearly nothing as beautiful as the sky. There were stars beginning to shimmer, only adding to the beauty of the swirling blues, purples and pinks. He was truly awestruck.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen," The announcer began his well known speech "As you all know, this is a very important ceremony, but we must cut it short due to the storm that may be rolling in. We'll begin now so that you fine citizens have time to make it home before the storm. First up..." And so the mayor droned on. The group was mostly silent, occasionally making comments. Jeremy's turn came up quicker than he thought.

"Jeremiah Heere." Jeremy took a shaky breath and stood up, smiling at the group before making his way to the stage. The announcer gently handed him a small navy blue box with his name embroidered on the top in silver lettering. He smiled and thanked the mad before rushing back to the table. Michael shot up and rushed over to Jeremy with a goofy grin on his face.

"So? What'd you get?" Jeremy shrugged and slowly pulled open the velvet covered box. Sitting inside was a small silver Pac-Man. The eye was a small blue opal that shone beautifully, much like Jeremy's eyes when he was happy. He let out a content sigh and gently pulled the charm out of the box. His was on a bracelet. He smiled and clasped it on.

"It's really nice. But... Christine got one of the entertainment masks, didn't she? Pac-man and drama have nothing to do with each other." Michael furrowed his eyebrows and looked at Jeremy, genuinely confused. Jeremy bit his lip and looked at the charm.

"Well the thing is... I kinda knew that Chrissy wasn't my soulmate. But I know who I want mine to be." Jeremy mumbled the last bit and sat in his seat with a small sigh. The rest of the group began a conversation on how certain dogs are better than others and the ceremony flew by. Time seemed to stop when it was time for Michael to go up.

Michael took a shaky breath and began to walk towards the stage. His mind was racing a thousand miles an hour. He knew what Jeremy's charm was. What if his didn't match? What if he got some stranger that he didn't even want? What if he didn't even get a charm? His thoughts we're put to a stop by the red velvet box that was places in his palm. Je smiled weakly at the announcer and rushed to the table. Jeremy immediately stood up and made his way over to Michael.

"Well? What are you waiting for Mikey! Open it up!" Michael chuckled and slowly opened the box to reveal a silver plated ghost charm, much like the ones seen in Pac-man. The eye in his was made of a small black opal with a red tinge. It reflected beautifully and Michael had never been happier. Then he remebered what Jeremy had gotten.

By the time he had turned around to face Jeremy, the smaller boy had already gotten his bracelet off and was looking at it incredulously. The two charms began to warm, seeing as the soul mates were so close to each other. It wasnt an uncomfortable heat, but rather the same kind of warmth and comfort that one would find in front of a fire in a cold night.

"Mikey?" Jeremy spoke quietly, afraid of what the other might say. Michael turned and smiled widely at Jeremy, happier than ever before. He was happier than he was when he was marvelling at the cotton candy sky. He enveloped Jeremy in a hug, laughing happily. Jeremy laughed and hugged him back tightly. The hug, however, was broken by the sound of thunder clapping.
