-Daniels perspective
I sit beside her on the bench at the airport.
"It's for the best."
"Is it though?" I whisper to her. She sighs.
We had discussed what we were doing, after that eternity of silence. She was talking to me - but I heard none of it. There was only one thing going through my mind.
She didn't say it back.
She didn't say 'I Love You' back.
She had called her aunt. Said she was coming home. Just for a little bit - a bit of space. Away from me probably.
"Yes." She smiles solumnly at me. "I'll be back in a few days. For the funeral. You will still come with me - right?"
"Of course. I'll be there every step of the way." I place my hand on hers.
"CALLING FOR ALL PASSENGERS OF THE FLIGHT TO LONDON."
The loudspeaker booms and she stands abruptly.
"I'll see you soon."
I stand.
"I suppose so..."
She takes my hand.
"You'll be okay."
I look up, trying not to cry.
"You have the boys."
It's all my fault she's leaving.
"Don't cry."
All my stupid fault.
"Have a safe flight."
I turn on my heal and walk away - turning a quick corner and bursting into tears.

Somehow I had managed to get home. Whether I had driven, picked up or hailed a cab. But somehow I ended up staring blankly at my empty room. Bedsheets tousled from when she slept beside me. Clothes on the floor from last minute packing. Even the broken glass hadn't been cleared away - it had narrowly missed my head when she threw it.
Sadly to say - the room was a mess.
But when Jonah and Corbyn found me, I was in a bigger mess.

"Bro what the fuck happened to you?" Corbyn whispered wading through the empty vodka bottles and tissues.
"BAYYSICCALLYYY" I shouted, extremely drunk, "SHE LEFT! GOT ON A ZOOMY THING, THAT FLIES... what's it called..." I mutter.
"A plane?" Jonah questions.
"YES!" I try to stand and corbyn and Jonah catch me before I faceplanted the floor.
"Why are there so many tissues on the floor?" Zach mumbles as him and Jack walk in through the door.
"I WATCHED THE LITTLE MERMAID AND CRIED!"
"BLOODY HELL!" Jack shouts. "Mother of God what happened to you?"
"Do not." I poke him, "say the lord's name in vain! You SINNERRRR!"
"Hey, hey, hey!" Jonah says, "that's enough shouting from you. Let's get you to bed."
Between them they managed to haul my drunk ass to bed, and settle me down.
"Goodnight." Corbyn says as he leaves to room.
"Goodnight buddy." Jonah says, as he gets up to follow suite.
"Wait." I say groggily.
He pauses.
"Thank you."
He smiles.
"It's okay. Now get some sleep!"
"I can't sleep with out it."
"Without what?" He perches on the bed.
"Bethany bearrrr." I slur, falling asleep.
He chuckles.
"She'll be home soon. Don't you worry."
I mumbled a drunken okay, as Jonah got up to leave.
"Night man."
"I love you Jonah." I shout drunkenly
"Love you too buddy, now go to sleep."
"On it." As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out.

Somehow I managed to survive that night. And the one after that, and the one after that. And then for five nights more.
That's when she came home.
I was sitting in my bed, fiddling with my guitar, when she walked right in through the bedroom door.
No warning, no knock no nothing.
I looked up at her with surprise in my eyes. I opened my mouth to apologize for everything.
"No, don't say anything or apologize. Not yet. I need to say something first."
I put my guitar down beside me.
She takes a step further into the room.
"I love you Daniel Seavey, and I have since the moment I met you. I'm quite sure I will forever. And I know that whatever happens - what ever gets in our way, we will get through it. Because that's what love is. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you before I left. I regretted it the whole time I was away."
She pauses.
"I love you Daniel James Seavey. Forever and Always."
I breathe in and smile. I wander to her and take her hands in mine.
"I love you too, Bethany Crayilin. Forever and Always."
She smiles.
The last two chapters are coming up! Be prepared 😔💕
