ALONE

If you Wake me up

"Okay Denise when I tap you on your shoulder you will awaken and tell me everything you experienced understood?" Dr Murray spoke.

Denise unconsciously nodded her head . Slowly Dr. Murray place her hand on her shoulder and she slowly became awake.

She gave her some time to adjust and understand what was happening. She gave her a glass of water and a tissue as she saw that she was beginning to tear up and become emotional.

"Now I want for you to take a really big deep breath and look at me.." she looked " Now tell me what  did you see that has you so emotional? Slowly tell me remember to breathe okay!"

" Sh-she hit me I had a bruise under my eye. but I didn't do anything it was always my fault it was always me." Denise cried out.

Moments went by as Murray gave her time to let everything out before she began to dig a little deeper.

" OK Denise.. calm down heres the next question. Why did she hit you that day you said you didn't do anything but what made her hit you go back to the memory and tell me exactly what happened ."

" I was in my room I had just cleaned it and she came upstairs and told me that  she was sick of me and my shit. She said that out of all of her kids I seem to be the only difficult one she told me that I was an idiot and I would never make it anywhere in my life. Out of all of her kids I was what the fuck up of the bunch...... then she punched me in my face and it knocked me out ."

Dr. Murray took note on everything that she said and she told her how much progress that she had been making.

" What happened next Denise?" she spoke

" I woke up in my room and she was calling me again telling me that I needed to come clean her laundry room because she didn't feel like doing and since cleaning seemed to be the only thing I could do and was smart enough to do I needed to do it before she kicked my ass. So I did so she wouldn't hit me again but then to make matters worst when I was done she was upstairs in my room and my room was a disaster I really remember that because I had just cleaned it out perfectly and she told me that she could do whatever the fuck she wanted to in her house because it was her house. " she spoke.

"Denise do you need a break?" Dr. Murray asked. 

Shaking her head Denise continued to tell her what she remembered she wanted to get it all out before she shut down.

"Dad came home from work and I was way too happy to see him that I attacked him as soon as he came in the door and he picked me up and hugged me. When he finally placed me back on the ground he saw my face and immediately he went in to super dad mode. I had to tell him my mom hit me and everything that she did to me that day and he was ok he told me that he was gonna take me out for daddy daughter day and told me to get ready. While upstairs putting on my jumper I heard him yelling at June he wasn't happy with her at all. we left a few minutes later and I had a ball that day with him I always did. But what really kills me about that is that my brother was sleeping but Janna and Kayla were there and they did nothing to help. Why didn't they help me?" she began to cry again

" Denise sometimes its hard for people to help or actually prevent a situation from happening you have to try and remember that June was an abusive person to you and I know we haven't gotten that far in our sessions yet but im pretty sure your gonna tell me something soon about her hurting the others but for right now I just want to say that you did great this session and although time is up.... we always make progress in other sessions so I will see you in 2 days okay."

They hugged and Denise Walked out the door feeling nothing less than a feeling of relief.
