him, that bastard - 1

I'm Lea , I've been working at this company for a while now and I've got a good reputation. I loved my work, until that bastard walked in as if he owned the place. Lemme tell you a story of how my life was turned upside down because of him, that bastard.

I was pretty much close with everyone at the company and I had a couple friends who I actually met outside of work. It was Thursday noon I just finished my lunch with my other coworkers when I walked down that corridor I saw a glimpse of him, a glimpse of someone I think I've seen before, but he'd never come here for sure.

The day soon ended and I finished work. I have my own apartment, nice neighbours and it's in a relatively good neighbourhood. I started to walk home but I decided to stop by the local convenience store and bought a couple snacks. Kimchi noodles, V cut potato chips, Taro fish snack, ball cake, chippy, and a ton of drinks. I sit down on one of the tables outside the store and a couple of the workers came out and sat with me, Jane and Jake .

Jane looked at me and held my hand, "what happened? You looked depressed, you're buying a ton of snacks again." Jake laughed, "you on you're period?" I stared at them both "the fuck, are you kidding me, why whenever I buy snacks you always think I'm depressed or on my period?" They chuckle, Jake passes a bottle of lychee mogu mogu, "it's the last one, be happy." I smile and Jane starts to talk about when we first met. "I remember it so clearly, it was the night that he broke up with me." Jake interrupted, "what did you save his name as again? 'Loml Hiro with a ton of heart emojis' you were so stupid to date him." Jane slapped his back, "Shut up before I tell the girl you're meeting that you're cheating." Jake stood up, "I'm not even cheating on her, the fuck" I make Jake sit back down "calm the both of you" Jane carries on, "anyways it was on the night he broke up with me and I bought a ton of alcohol, I was planning to drown my feelings with the alcohol lol. It was 12am and I was just walking when I bumped into you and you said you'd help me, at the time I didn't think too much about letting a stranger follow me to my house so I let you help me. So we went in I made instant noodles and we drank, I don't even remember what happened that night but I must've cried my eyes out about him. I remember waking up in the morning with an address on my arm" I laughed "yeah I remember waking up on the floor of my apartment with a massive headache and your address on my arm. I remember that morning I went to your house and had some hangover soup."

Jake suddenly interrupted and said, "Well I remember the first time we met as well, it wasn't much but I think you were on your period when you came up to the till with a month's worth of sanitary napkins, a bunch of snacks like ice cream and drinks. So I decided to give you a free chocolate milk drink and I remember saying to you, 'I recommend you watch Goblin it's a korean drama I think you'd enjoy it" I nodded, "soon after I think I started to meet you guys more often and I soon found out that you guys were siblings and that you worked in the same convenience store." I look at Jake, "when I went home and watched the drama I cried then went back the next day and asked you for more drama recommendations. I didn't think you'd be the type to watch dramas to be honest. I didn't even think you knew what dramas were." He chuckled, "wow judgmental. It seemed like you needed something too watch so I helped you out, now look at you, you're the one giving me recommendations."

We carry on talking about life. Soon after I walked home and I collapsed on my bed, Mich my best friend still lives in our l hometown, in fact she's a doctor, I decide to FaceTime her.

"Lea what's up"

"Nothing really I just missed you, I wanna see you again, we meet up soon."

"Wow I loved being missed. We should."

"How's Mark? Is he still an idiot?"

She laughs, "Lea I heard that, wait until I see you ima kick your ass"

I laughed, "Mhm I'd love to see you try."

I ended the call and I realised that I was the only one who moved out of our hometown, everyone stayed and inherited things or stayed and got jobs from people we knew. In fact Carrie inherited her father's restaurant and it's that biggest and well known restaurant in our hometown. I guess I was the only one who felt like I didn't fit in.

I changed into the most comfortable clothes and watered my bamboo plant, Bambi. I haven't really caught up on my dramas recently so I decided to stay up a little bit and watch a couple episodes. It's the next morning and I have 3 hours before my alarm rings, great. I don't start until 10am so I decided to fall asleep. I wake up and it's 9:45am. Well shit. I quickly get in the shower, I managed to shower and get changed within 10 minutes. 9:50, I pack my things and run out the door. 9:59am, I managed to run to work, get there, sign in and sit down before 10am.

After all that I placed my head on the table and looked at the desk next to mine, that Jessica was there, why's her desk clear? She used to give me sweets before, she was a nice girl. I close my eyes and I wake up to a voice in my ear, "long time no see class rep"
