I don't say prayers no more

Dear God, please don't wake me. In Jesus name, Amen.

I touched my skin and it was coated in agony. Not the familiar kind. The familiar kind came and left. This one took you places, demanded you follow its command.

And then my mind could not sum up the requirements of death. Its establishment could not be contained in my imagination, so I reversed the prayer.

God, I rebuke what I initially said in Jesus name amen.

I went to sleep in uncertainty. I did not know if my eyes would be blinded by the sunlight in the onset of consciousness or if the rest of what is would be dark and insignificant.

Mostly, I don't know if I cared either way.
