"I'm never gonna get this done in time by myself," Kristina said, chunking the roll of tape on the floor and adding another present to the pile. "I could literally kill her." Parker smirked and plopped down beside her grabbing an unwrapped toy and starting her own pile. "She just cares honey. She's being a grandparent, let her have some fun with it," She said, turning to kiss the other girl's nose. "Especially if it means that we save money."
Kristina cleared her throat slightly. "Well, I may or may not have an idea that could solve that problem." She told her, pushing her hair behind her ear before diving back into wrapping Morgan's presents. "Oh yeah?" Parker asked, taping up a final part of the box and setting it to the side before grabbing another gift to wrap. "What's that?" Kristina paused for a moment trying to figure out how to bring this up. She wasn't sure Parker would be okay with it. "You know what? Nevermind. It was a dumb idea." She said and went back to taping paper to whatever type of musical instrument she had in her hands. Parker grabbed her hand and she stopped moving before turning sideways to face her wife.
"I want to go back to work," She spat out. Parker looked confused. "I know I said I wasn't going to, but I want to talk to dad and see if I can work from home most of the time." She said, pausing, waiting for a reply. Parker hadn't given her one yet. She was either processing or waiting for her to continue, which Kristina couldn't figure out. She decided to continue anyway. "I want to be able to help with Morgan and I make good money running Perks. My hours would be limited, but it's still really good money. What do you think?"
Parker looked at her like she was crazy, but only for a second. "Honey, I'm only going to say this once. You don't have to ASK me to do things like this. You don't have to ask me to do anything. If you want to work, go back to work. I agree, the money is much better. Maybe I could even take more time off that way, maybe do like a sub kinda thing so I can spend more time at home too."
Kristina smiled. "I know I don't have to ask, but I like to discuss this kind of stuff with you. I don't want to make any life altering decisions without talking to you first." She explained. "In all honesty, I would love for you to be home more. Morgan would love it too." She said as they heard a cry. "Crap," Parker said, gathering the wrapped and unwrapped gifts and putting them in the closet. "He must of heard his name," Kristina said with a laugh. "Or at least what you said about staying home." She joked. Parker shook her head and grinned. "I got him." She said getting another quick kiss before bringing him out of his room.
She came back and put him in the floor with her and Kristina. "Did you hear what your other mama said? She's gonna be home a little more!" She told the smiling boy. He turned to Parker and started climbing into her lap making noises. "Look babe," Kristina told her. "He's already excited." Parker looked at the toddler sitting in her lap, playing with her wedding ring. "I'm happy too!" She told him. "Mama doesn't get to spend enough time with you, or your mom for that matter." He pulled himself up by holding onto her arms and gave her a slobbery open mouthed kiss. And then he did something completely unexpected. "Mama?" He said looking up at the blonde.
"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!" Parker exclaimed. "He said- Did you hear- He said Mama!" She said, obviously losing her mind. Kristina was smiling ear to ear pulling out her phone for a video. "Did you just say your first word big boy?" She asked a happy Morgan. She hit record and decided to see if he'd say it again. "Did you say mama?" Parker asked him. "Can you say it for us again?" She asked, still beaming. Morgan grabbed her face, squeezing her cheeks but was no longer trying to speak. Kristina kept filming for a little bit anyways. She turned the camera on herself.
"So our son just said Mama, referring to Parker. He hasn't said it to me yet but hey! Progress is progress!" She said laughing. She turned the camera back onto her wife and child. "We love you, no matter who you speak to first." She told him poking his belly. He gave a squeal and started reaching for the camera so she had to turn it off, but as soon as she did, she heard another "Mama". This time it was directed at her. She was so happy she could cry. "Dammit kid, you are growing up too fast." She said kissing his head and looking at Parker. "We may not have gotten it on video, BUT HE SAID MAMA TO BOTH OF US EEEEEEEEEEK!!!!" Parker busted out laughing. "Let's try and teach him English before we teach him dolphin okay honey?'' She joked. "Honestly, though. I have no idea how I was lucky enough to have this life. You and Morgan are more than enough for me." She told her. "Teaching can be put on hold. You two are the most important things in my life. I could have missed these moments... I don't think I want to miss any of them." Parker told her, kissing her wife. "Thank you for marrying me." She told her. "That was 3 years ago babe," Kristina told her, returning the kiss. "But thanks for asking me." She said, a smile on her lips as she kissed her wife. "I'd have asked you every day until you said yes anyways."
