Year: 2004...

After many emails, fan letters, and even face to face confrontation, people had been begging and pleading that Stuart go back to Kong to regroup with his fellow band members, Noodle, Murdoc, Russel, and (Y/n).

And that's when he had decided to ring the one and only, Murdoc Faust Niccals.

That bastard..

One, maybe two rings was all it took for the bloke to answer.

"Hello?" Murdoc groaned, his harsh voice sending a shot of cringe down Stuart's spine.

"Uh, how's it going, Murdoc?"

"Who's this?"

Stuart sighed heavily, rolling his eyes as he rubbed his temples.

"Stuart, 2-D, y'know, your lead singer?" He muttered, already regretting his decision to try and come back.

"Ah, Faceache! I had a feeling you would come back, life must've been shit without me." Murdoc chuckled.

Stuart groaned once again, imagining the smug grin that Murdoc wore.

"Definitely." He muttered sarcastically, "So, hows everyone been?"

Murdoc paused for a second, probably putting the phone down to grab a bottle of booze or what have you.

"Well let's see," An audible pop could be heard as he popped the cap from his alcoholic beverage.

"Noodle went back to Japan, I guess the kid is some kind of failed child super soldier experiment. She then called me up and had the wonderful idea of having this contest to bring us all together. She's even been working on some songs for our up and coming album! An' Russ went to LA, lost Del's spirit and then crashed in Ike Turner's basement. Once he knew Noodle was coming back he was quick to get his ass over here too. Meanwhile, me and (Y/n) had been cruising around Mexico, until we lost contact when I was in prison, turns out she knew the two mobsters who shared the cell with me, they ended up helping me out! Now it's just the four of us at good old Kong. It's been wild, yeah..." He grins, feeling a sense of joy that they're all together again.

Somewhat at least.

"How's it been for you, faceache?" He asks, pausing to take a sip to relieve his dry throat.

If he were being honest with himself, it had been fun at the fair with the ladies and unprotected sex, but he was missing something, someone. He couldn't get her out of his head, no matter which pair of legs it was between.

"Oh uh, fine but uh, could you elaborate more on uh, how (Y/n)'s been doing..?" He mumbled, feeling strange by the way her name dripped from his lips. "She must've been doing more than just breaking you outta prison." He laughed nervously.

"What do you mean by 'elaborate'? She's fine, mate. She's got herself a little boyfriend. I introduced her to one of the mobsters from the cárcel back in Tijuana, Miguel. She's been head over heels for him, at least I think so." He shrugged, finding it weird that 'D would even care in the first place.

"Murdoc, you hooked (Y/n) up with a criminal?! He could've been in there for domestic abuse or murder! He could hurt her, why the hell would you-" Stuart panicked before being interrupted.

"Hey-Hey, calm down down now, scatterbrain. She's fine, I wouldn't let anything happen to her!" Murdoc claimed confidently, (Y/n) was like a daughter to him, he wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Before Murdoc could continue, a loud bang followed by a scream could be heard.

"Murdoc what was that..?" Stuart questioned nervously.

"Miguel! Oh for fucks sake, I'll call you back, faceache." Murdoc groaned, hanging up before Stuart got a chance to interject.

He sighed, holding the phone in his hand. He checked the time and walked to the kitchen where his mum was fixing supper.

"Who was that, love? You seem upset." His mother pondered while cutting up a stalk of celery.

Stuart took a deep breath, sitting on one of the dinning room chairs with his head in his hands.

"Mum, I-I think it's time for me to go back to Kong."

His mother paused, throwing the chopped celery into a bowl before walking over to Stuart.

"Love, are you sure? I remember how much you hated working with that awfully green man. Now that you're gone, you want to go back? Doesn't make too much sense to me, darling." His mother stated, rubbing her sons back soothingly.

Stuart looked into his mothers eyes and sighed, leaning back into the chair.

"I can't explain it, Mum. Besides all of the letters I've gotten from fans, I feel like I need to go back, whether it's my dick or my brain telling me to." He explained, feeling incredibly conflicted.

"Stuart!" His mother scolded, tugging on his earlobe.

"It's the truth, mum!" He whined, getting up while rubbing his bright red ear.

His mother sighed, returning back to the cutting board.

"Well what does your willy have to do with you going back to Kong Studios, love?"

Stuart leaned against the counter, watching as his mother continued cooking.

"This'll sound silly, mum, but there's this girl. Her name's (Y/n), Murdoc had brought her 'round a few months after I had separated from Paula. She was sweet and all, she had even caught my eye after just a few months of knowing her!" Stuart blushed, brushing a hand through his hair. "But knowing she was close to Murdoc meant I couldn't even say hello without being accused of trying to shag her. It had ruined the chance of a relationship altogether so I decided to ignore her completely, now I feel regret and it's been bothering me."

His mother nods, understanding her sons situation.

"Do you have feelings for her?"

That took Stuart by surprise because in reality, he didn't have a clue.

"I guess, but I can't get into a relationship, mum. I don't want to hurt her but I can't settle down either. I'm so conflicted, mum." He sighed, stepping away from the counter so his mother could reach the stove.

"Well, son, whatever you decide to do, it's your choice, my love. Now wash up, supper's done." She declared, beginning to set the dinning table.

Stuart nodded, walking towards the sink only to pause when his back pocket began to vibrate.

Incoming call from: Bastard

Stuart stumbled to put the phone to his ear, nearly dropping it.

"Sorry about that, Dullard. Anyway, everyone's been doing just fine without you, but I sure do miss that voice of yours, the voice of an angle." Murdoc hinted, chuckling.

Stuart rolled his eyes, groaning quietly.

"Well, I was thinking and maybe I could come back for a bit. I want to be there to support and help Noodle with this new album. Maybe even say hello to some people, go on a little tour.."

Murdoc squealed, causing 2-D's ears to ring.

"Great thinking, Dullard! Sounds like something I'd come up with, uh, let's just pretend it was my idea, yeah? Anyway, I'll let everyone know about your arrival and we'll see you soon."

"Right, sounds good. See you soon, Murdoc."

Stuart hung up soon after, tucking his phone into his back pocket to go eat and pack for his flight back to Kong Studios.
