Lindsey takes a sip of his iced tea and looks out at the familiar street from his chair on the front porch. He's glad this is a good day, sometimes the arthritis in his hands hurts so bad he can hardly hold his glass.

He thinks about all the years that have passed but his mind is still sharp, even though he's approaching his seventy fourth birthday. He's remembers everything from growing up on this street. Especially the events after meeting Stevie for the first time over sixty years ago.

Lindsey is drawn put of his reverie by his granddaughter Stephanie. She shakes his arm saying

"Grandpa you didn't say what happened to Dave and Roy after the homecoming dance!"

Lindsey smiles looking at his fourteen old granddaughter. She's the same age as her namesake when he met her so long ago. Stephanie looks just like her grandmother too with the long dirty blonde hair and big beautiful brown eyes. Lindsey thinks this is no accident she's his favorite among the grandchildren. He says to Stephanie

"Dave got off with enlisting in the army, most small time offenders did at that point in time."

"They even let him finish out the year in high school before he had to go off to bootcamp."

"Last I heard Dave made the army a career and eventually married and had a family."

"I think he might be retired and living in San Antonio."

Just like her grandmother, Stephanie has a streak of impatience in her. She says in that tone

"What about Roy!"

Lindsey shakes his head enjoying the fact his granddaughter enjoys his stories so much. He replies

"Roy turned states evidence against the bunch he was running with from Oakland."

"They put him in witness protection, I never saw him again."

Stephanie responds

"That's good he sounded like a real creep!"

They both laugh and then Lindsey says

"You got that right kiddo, he caused us a lot of trouble back in those days."

The front door opens and Lindsey looks up to see the love of his life walk out onto the porch. His breath is taken away seeing her as always. Her once long blonde locks are now steel grey but still hang beautifully down past her shoulders. She dressed in a white sun dress that compliments her bronze skin and wears no shoes as usual. She sits on the swing right next to Stephanie and tucks a lock of Stephanies hair behind her ear as she says

"Honey is grandpa telling you stories from the old days again?"

Stephanie responds

"Yes grandma you know I love grandpa's stories!"

Stevie chuckles and sticks her toes into Lindsey leg and says

"Yeah I think grandpa likes having you around here all summer just like I do my sweet!"

Stephanie leans into Stevies side as she wraps her arm around her. Stevie asks

"Which story is grandpa telling you today?"

Stephanie responds

"He told me about how you met and how your boyfriend Dave and his friend Roy where creeps!"

Stevie shakes her head as Lindsey hides a laugh under his hand. Stevie says to Stephanie

"Did grandpa tell you he dated Sally at that time?"
