When Will I Be Loved

The team all rides back to the sandlot then disperses being it's close to supper time. Stevie, Lindsey and Scott ride back to their part of the street. They all put their bike away and meet on Stevie's sidewalk in front of her house.  Scott says to Stevie

  "Are you okay Steves?"

  Scott looks right at Stevie's chest and continues

  "That shit for brains Roy hit you pretty hard, it looked like on your boobies."

  Stevie blushes once again a deep color of red while Lindsey examines his shoes. Stevie replies

  "I'll be just fine thank you, maybe a little soar."

  Scott deadpans

  "Lindsey you better not be feeling Stevie up for awhile or you'll be liable to hurt her."

  Lindsey punches Scott in the arm immediately and says

  "Would you just shut up Chamberlain!"

  Scott rubs his arm laughing then suddenly reaches down and snacks Lindsey in his groin area. Lindsey sinks to his knees as Scott says

  "I got ya that time didn't I Buck?"

  "Hurts like hell don't it?"

  Stevie immediately kicks Scott right in the shin. Scott has something new to rub as he says

  "Damn that hurt Stevie whatya do that for?"

  Stevie shakes her head and responds

  "You two dummies are always hitting each other, I thought I would just join in."

  Scott whines

  "No fair Steves we can't hit you back, your a girl!"

  Stevie responds

  "Well maybe you both better knock it off then!"

  Scott offers his hand to Lindsey and helps him up. He says to Lindsey

  "Sorry Lindsey."

  Lindsey starting to recover replies

  "I'm sorry too, I shouldn't of hit you in the first place."

  Scott sticks out his hand and Lindsey shakes it. Scott starts to walk back across the street and he says over his shoulder

  "By the way Buckingham, if your balls are still hurting maybe Steves will kiss them for you and make you all better!"

  Scott takes off running for his house laughing his head off. Lindsey makes like he's going to chase him but feels Stevie's hand grab his. She says to him

  "Let him go, he's just trying to get a rise out of you."

  "If you ignore him he will stop."

  Lindsey replies

  "He's always teasing me though!"

  Stevie grips Lindsey's hand tighter and says

  "You've got to learn to use your head instead of your muscles Linds."

  Lindsey gives and says

  "Okay Steph I'll try to do better."

  Stevie smiles and grabs Lindsey's other hand and says

  "I have to go in for supper but after let's go up to Jimmersons drugstore and have ice cream."

  "My treat for my hero!"
