Scenario 1: Amy has always had a small crush on Sonic. It was very noticeable though, except to Sonic. Sonic would never speak to Amy and just run away from her since she was so freaky to him. Amy notices this after a while and has a breakdown in the middle of class. Everyone blames Sonic because of this and Sonic has to make it up to Amy somehow to regain his friends back.
Scenario 2: Amy is new to the school. Sonic is forced to have Amy follow him to help her around the school. Amy grows attached to him and stays with him at all times. She started getting a crush for him but Sonic didn't feel quite the same for Amy. Amy notices this and doesn't go back to school, basically avoiding Sonic. Sonic has to fix this somehow since the lower class kids start to judge him.
