Bailey lives on and now owns and operates the Lost Ranch in the Lost River Valley bordered by vast mountains. She lost her father two years ago at sixteen in a tragic car accident. From then on she has pretty much been taking care of herself. Her father willed the ranch to her, but would not allow her to take over operations until she graduated from high school, so thus came Jake, the ranch hand to help with operations and to eventually teach her all the ways since her mom wanted nothing to do with the ranch. Arie was her main horse and throughout the book she is finding herself struggling to get over his loss.

Jake came on to the ranch just four months after Ramsey's death. He answered Bailey's online add for help with the cattle on the ranch. Prior to coming to the ranch Jake had been a champion Bronc rider. Last year he had a career ending accident so coming to the ranch and still getting to get back into his cowboy roots was the best alternative to his rodeo days. Throughout the book he helps teach Bailey how to operate the cattle on the ranch.

Hair; Naturally brunette, lower back in length. She currently has half of her hair dyed platinum blonde.
Height and Weight; 5'5" and 135lbs
Age; 18
Linda has been Bailey's best friend since Kindergarten. She has always been a little on the eccentric outgoing side constantly changing up her hair color, though she has kept the half and half she currently has for all of their high school days. She starts up cosmetology school in just three weeks.
