Family History; The trusty ranch mare Sailor is Sampson's dam. He was her last foal and the first foal out of the new Ranch stud owned by Jake. Jake took on ownership of the foal as well and started working on desensitizing him once he was weaned from Sailor. Sampson is a quick learner and an in your pocket kinda horse. He loves to be rewarded. Now at two years old, Jake has been slowly introducing him to a saddle and doing lots of groundwork with him to make him a reliable mount once he is ready for his first rides. Jake intends on putting his first rides on when he is three, then working him a year on the ranch before rehoming him.
Conformation; Sampson is still growing. He is a little rump high, but Jake has high hopes that he will even out or at least be not as noticeable once he is finished growing. He is still a little gangly, but by keeping him a stallion for a little longer, Jake plans on letting him build up his muscles a bit before gelding him. Looking at him head on, his front knees are a little bowed in, and his back end is a little toed out. He has a good deep slope to his haunches, which will make him a prime cutting horse for a cattle ranch, but he really could go any way. He's got nice features to his head, alert ears with soft eyes.
