"Come on, Nana." Ayaka motioned for her to come closer. "We're jumping, you go first!" Nana looked at her as if she was crazy.
"Are you insane?!" Nana snapped. "I'm not jumping! You can't make me!"
Tek....Tek...
The hideous disfigured girl smirked as she crawled closer and closer, thinking she's trapped them. "Where are my legs?" She whispered in a small, cracked voice. It was loud enough for them to hear, and it sent shivers rippling down their spines.
"C'mon Nana!" Ayaka hissed. Nana walked closer but did not attempt to go through the window. "It's nothing but a few feet down! I think...." She stole a glance out the window as Naomi added,
"Come on, Nana, just think of it as a game." Nana perked up, interested.
"What kind of game?" She asked.
"Hide and Seek!" Naomi answered with a smile.
"Okay!" Replied Nana.
Tek....Tek...
It smashed a hole in one door with its scythe. The girls jumped at the noise and looked at the door, as if she'd smashed that one open. It looked through the large hole to find an empty room, so it carried on.
Tek....Tek...scrape...
"Hurry, Nana!" Ayaka and Nana both screamed at Nana as she swung one leg over the windowsill. She looked down below her at the garbage. She just hoped it wouldn't hurt. She swung the other leg around until she was sitting in the window facing the outside of it.
SMASH!!!
They all flinched, she was getting closer and closer!! Ayaka and Naomi backed up against the wall next to the window, their backs flat against it. "Hurry up." Ayaka snapped, impatience and fear making her legs turn to jelly. Nana hesitated, still looking below her. Just then everything seemed normal, until the way down began to look farther and farther away.
"Nana....jump." Naomi begged, her voice trembling as she heard the evil cackle of a little girl.
Now it knew where they were, but was simply smashing the scythe into doors along the way, not bothering to check inside the rooms. They were inside the room on the far end of the hall. It passed another door and pierced it with the scythe, louder this time, as it created a gigantic hole in it. It grinned as three shrill shrieks erupted from the room.
"JUMP!" Naomi exploded, roughly pushing Nana out the window as if she just lost all her sanity. Nana's screams filled the air as she fell, in no time she ended up in a sea of garbage, gasping for air as if she really fell into water.
Ayaka shot Naomi a furious look before climbing out the window and quickly jumping out to get to her sister.
"Wait!" Naomi yelled. "Don't leave me!" She looked at the two figures standing in the trash pleadingly.
SMASH!!!
Ayaka and Nana looked up when they heard her scream. Ayaka clambered out of the trash and helped Nana get out.
"Is she gonna be okay?" Nana asked worriedly. Ayaka looked back up, guilt making her regret her decision to jump instead of leaving Naomi by herself. She was as scared about the idea of jumping out the window as Nana was. She should've stayed up there until she had jumped.
Naomi whipped around, her long ponytails flying in pursuit. Her ocean blue eyes stared at the door in horror, dreading her last moments of life. Oh why had she left home? That has to be the greatest mistake she'd ever made!
The sharp edge of a scythe was still jutting into the door, until it disappeared and an eye took its place. Naomi gasped in terror, backing against the window as a bloodshot eye glared at her through the hole in the door.
"Where's my legs?" A low voice croaked at her.
Naomi did her best to swallow the lump in her throat. She remained silent, what did she mean? Where are her legs...? She thought, confused.
"Naomi!" Ayaka yelled. "Jump! You have to jump!" She was standing next to the garbage and still looking up at the window while Nana sat hugging her knees, most likely traumatized. Ayaka kept strong for her sister, but at least Naomi could be brave!
"Where are my legs?" The creature demanded this time, still looking straight at Naomi with piercing eyes. The girl stayed silent.
The creature created another large hole in the door and glared at her some more, as if threatening to break down the door if she didn't answer.
"Naomi!" Ayaka called, she could easily see her standing right in front of the window.
Naomi straightened her back and lifted her chin defiantly. "Well I don't know," she hissed, "Why don't you go ask someone in Hell?!" She instantly turned to the window and began to climb out.
The disfigured girl stared at her with wide eyes, as if she wasn't expecting that answer. Then she glared and screeched, "Where are my legs?!"
SMASH!!!!!
The noise was ear-splitting, and it made Naomi's ears ring. Even Ayaka and Nana could hear it! She lifted one leg after the other over the windowsill.
SMASH! SMASH! SMASH!
It was furious, it kept smashing the door. One large hole after the other, nothing but gruesome thoughts filling her mind. Until finally she was able to climb though the enormous hole in the door.
"Jump!" Ayaka yelled, looking up at her with fear and hope written all over her face.
Naomi did it, she pushed herself off the windowsill. Just as the thing lunged for her, scythe raised, she'd jumped. Her long ponytails flying like dark ribbons twirling in the wind, trailing along behind her. She landed into bags of trash as it broke her fall. She shakily stood to her feet, still shaken up from the fall, and stared up at a deathly pale face in the window.
Two bloodshot eyes glared at her through a tangle of black hair. The disfigured girl was sitting on the windowsill (if you call that sitting...) on her top half. It almost looked as if she had the lower half of her body, which reminded Nana of earlier when she'd gotten lost.
Nana thought that girl was mean, she didn't like her at all. She stuck her tongue out at her, Ayaka looked down at her then and giggled at the face she made. She began to stick her tongue out at the monster too, as if trying to tempt it to come after them. But it didn't move; and then Naomi made faces at it along with them.
The Tek Tek grew angrier at the second. It screeched at them, and looked as if it were ready to jump down. It raised the scythe higher, making Naomi clamber out of the trash and begin to walk away from her.
The creature then slowly lifted its gaze to the sky, the girls followed its stare. The night had left them, and the sky was filled with a warm, peachy glow as the sun rose into the sky, tinting the clouds pink.
Naomi and Ayaka felt mesmerized by the sight as birds chirped a morning tune. It was then until Nana pulled at her sleeve when Ayaka was snapped out of her trance. She looked down, and Nana pointed up at the window,
"Look!" She said.
They both looked up, and the monster was gone. It had finally decided to leave. But will it be back? "I guess it only comes out at night." Ayaka said. "Let's consider ourselves lucky....for now."
