Every nerve in her body was screaming at her to get as far away from the door as possible, but it was like she was glued to the spot. The edge of the scythe momentarily disappeared before smashing back into the door, fragments of the door flying in all directions. Then it did it again.
When finally Ayaka's feet started to cooperate and her instincts took over, she ran up to Nana and grabbed her arm. "RUN!" She yelled at Naomi as she started to dart up the stairs. Naomi didn't need to be told twice, and she was right at their heels.
SMASH
The door finally caved in, and Ayaka glanced over her shoulder. There, standing in the doorway, was the hideous monster she'd seen earlier. It looked more terrifying closer than it was before. A girl was standing in the doorway, the bottom half of her body gone, she had long dark hair and in her hand was a bloodied scythe. Her tangle of black hair cascaded over her pale face and shaded her bloodshot eyes, that seemed to bore into her own green ones as she glared menacingly at her.
Nana and Naomi ran into a room full speed. Nana looked back to see Ayaka gaping at the hideous creature at the doorway. "AYA!" She exclaimed, snapping her sister out of her thoughts.
Ayaka shook her head and raced to her sister, slamming the door shut behind her. The Tek Tek monster clambered across the floor easily before swiftly climbing the stairs. Scythe in hand, she moved with ease up the stairs with her elbows and palms.
Ayaka looked around the room frantically as Nana and Naomi cried their eyes out. She darted up to a window and instantly started to pry it open. It opened an inch; not enough. "Naomi, help me!" She called out desperately to a sobbing Naomi across the room whilst struggling with the window.
Naomi ran up to Ayaka and helped her in trying to get the window to budge.
Nana stood by the door, she locked it and pressed her ear against it. "Aya, I can hear her coming!" She whispered loud enough for them to hear. She could hear the wooden floorboards creak, as if groaning under someone or something's weight.
Tek...Tek...Tek.....
The unsightly monster was now slowly making its way towards them. Up the rest of the stairs...
Tek....Tek....
It's hair a tangled mess, and strewn around its deathly pale face. Down the hallways it went....
Tek....Tek....
A scythe in hand, scraping at the wood as she dragged herself across the floor with it.
Tek...Tek...scrape...
Leaving endless, long streaks of crimson blood trailing behind her as she went.
Tek....Tek...
"I'm scared, onee-chan..." Nana whispered, trying her hardest not to break into tears again. The window finally budged and opened. Ayaka peered over the windowsill, she looked down below. Right under them was a very large green bin full of smelly garbage, if they jumped they could easily land in there. But it would be pretty gross.
"We're actually gonna jump?" Naomi asked, following her gaze to the garbage below. "Into the garbage?"
"Oh, I didn't know you'd rather die." Ayaka said harshly. Naomi looked at her with a hurt expression as she called out to Nana,
"Nana-chan! Get away from the door!"
Nana obeyed and immediately backed away from the door to their side of the room, trembling.
