(Last Time)
"I liked you, Nate. It's a shame you have to go!" Matthew gave a sinister smile.
'What does he mean by-' My thought was interrupted by a loud bang.
"NO!"
(Now) Y/N POV
"NO!" I screamed. I instantly sat up. I suddenly became confused. Where am I? What about Nate and Matthew! Someone stirred beside me. They rolled over. It was a shirtless man, but not just any. I gasped.
"Y/N? Baby, what's wrong?" Matthew groggily sat up.
"No. You stay away from me! Get away!" I cried.
"Y/N, what are you talking about?" Matthew was awake now. He didn't seem to have that insane look in his eyes. "Y/N, you had a bad dream. Come here." Matthew sighed, pulling me close. I tensed.
"Tell me all about it." He soothed. He rubbed my back as I told him everything, the Pizzeria, the fire, my engagement. "It's okay. I was a dream, it's not real. Any of it. The Pizzeria, me, I bet that guy, Nate, I bet he doesn't even exist."
Nate isn't real? No! He's getting in your head! At least he isn't killing me. I argued with myself. An idea popped into my head. "What about Stephanie?" I accused.
"Stephanie? Who's- wait, Cordato?" Matthew fixed his hair.
"Yes. Your wife!" I spat.
"First off, Stephanie Cordato divorced me before I started dating you, and second, how did you learn about Stephanie?" Matthew sighed.
"The dream..." I said, realizing how stupid I sounded. Matthew rolled his eyes and fell back into bed.
"Go to sleep. None of it's real. It's just a dream." I sighed and slumped into bed.
It can't be a dream right? It felt too real! I'll figure this out and find Nate if it's the last thing I do.
*TIME SKIP BROUGHT BY SKIP*
I woke up and saw that the space on the bed next to me was bare. I yawned and slid out of bed. There was a pile of neatly folded clothes at my feet. There was a sticky note on top that read: Hey babe! Good morning! You can borrow some of my clothes till you can get to your place. This is the smallest I have. Love ya! MatPat.
I put on the grey sweatpants and the white tank top and put my hair in a ponytail. I went into the hallway and walked down the steps. It's the same as my dream, I mean, reality? I questioned my thought. The room had a connected kitchen and living room, but the windows weren't broken, there wasn't mold on the floor, and there was fixed furniture. I smelled cooking food and Matthew came around the corner. "Hey! You're up!" He smiled, he actually smiled. "I thought more about your dream this morning, and I realize it must have been scary for you, and the fact that you think it's reality must scare you more. I'm sorry I didn't comfort you and was rude, so we're having a Y/N day." He apologized.
"A me day?" I raised an eyebrow, walking down the rest of the stairs.
"Yeah, you know, a day about you. We do your favorite activities, eat your favorite foods, spend time with your favorite people!"Matthew bopped your nose on 'favorite people.' I smiled a bit. I felt something brush my leg and I looked down to see Skip rubbing against my legs.
"Hey, buddy! How's CatPat!" I smiled, petting him. Matthew picked him up and held him to his face and turned him so he was facing me.
"Hi Y/N! I'm great! You're gonna have an awesome and terrific day with your handsome boyfriend! You're so lucky! I get to sit here and be fat!" Matthew said in a high pitched voice. I laughed as Matthew set Skip down as the cat ran away.
"And now I must fleeeeee!" I imitated Matthew's CatPat voice as we both watched Skip run away.
"Come on, I made your favorite breakfast." Matthew picked up a steaming plate of (Favorite breakfast). He set it on the table and I sat down and started to eat. Matthew went to fix himself a plate and he turned on the radio. A tango song came on and you stopped eating, feeling Matthew's smirk on the back of your head. I heard his slow pace and my mind went back to the basement, me being blindfolded, listening as Matthew closed in, ready to torture me. I felt his hand on my waist and it snapped me out of my thoughts. "This is our favorite song." He whispered in my ear. He pulled you up and you began to dance. At one point, Matthew had grabbed a rose and put it in his mouth. I rolled my 'r' in a purring sound as he wiggled his eyebrows. When we finished, we were inches apart. I'm having fun with Matthew! He spat the rose out. "You know how hard that is with hose thorns?" He whined. I giggled.
"I'll clean up from breakfast." He said as I stepped outside onto the porch. I sighed. I was having fun with Matthew, and I was starting to like him! I started to remember the memories I had with Nate, but it was difficult. I managed to get one memory stuck in my head. The one where he thought I was dead.
"May the Valkyries welcome you and lead you through Odin's great battlefield...... May they sing your name with love and fury so that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know that you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings..... For a great woman has fallen: A fighter. A friend. A lover."
I found tears coming to my eyes and I wiped them away as I stepped inside. "Hey, I got some Legend of Zelda set up! Want to play?" Matthew held up the Wii U Gamepad. I nodded. I remembered when Nate and I would play Wind Waker on our channel and it made me laugh at the memories we had. I made Link backflip off into the water and Matthew was amazed. "That's cool!"
"Well, you gotta know what's at the bottom or..." I climbed back up and backflipped onto the dock. Damage was dealt to Link. "Oh, yeah, seems logical." Matthew chuckled. After we played Wind Waker, we went out to lunch and took a walk in the park. We did some laser tag, and I won, and then we went back home.
"Hey, can we grab some groceries while we're out?" Matthew asked. I nodded and we went inside the nearest market. I walked around with Matthew as we made our way to the Diet Coke and I looked up at the TV screen. The news was on.
"There's still no sign of the missing Y/N L/N, but police are doing their best to make sure she is found, along with the culprit, Matthew Patrick." The news lady said. I blinked.
"Y/N!" Matthew tugged on my arm and I walked with him.
"That news was interesting," I commented.
"How so?" Matthew replied. He turned to look and his eyes widened. He quickly turned to the cash register and paid for the groceries and quickly pulled me out to the car.
